Summary / Role Purpose
The User Experience Designer creates easy and delightful experiences for users of Ansys products and services. The UX designer assesses the functional and content requirements of a product, develops storyboards, creates wireframes and task flows based on user needs, and produces visually detailed mockups. A passion for visual design and familiarity with UI trends and technologies are essential in this role, enabling the UX designer to bring fresh and innovative ideas to a project. This is an introductory role, intended to expose the UX professional to many aspects of their UX careers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Define Application's Purpose:Application's limits, problems, needs, new features.
- Analyze User Needs:User intentions, problems, experiences (Usability Test, User Persona, Empathy Maps).
- Facilitate Communication: Bridge between users and product leading UX project from all sizes and complexity.
- Strengthen Company Identity:Support and maintain established design and brand standards using company frameworks.
- Brings Modernization & Innovation: Implement of new features, tools and libraries.
- Develop UX activity: Collaborate and exchange with the UX Ansys community to ensure consistency across all user touch points.
- Design: collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate concepts into front-end specifications creating user flows, wireframes, mockups, visual designs and interactive prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
- BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or UX Design
- Working experience with frontend development and UX Design methodology
- Fluent in English
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- A portfolio demonstrating strong visual design skills, user-centered design, and experience designing marketing and product content
- Proficiency in tools associated with design and prototyping (Figma, Adobe Suite, etc.)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Experience in a large-scale commercial software development environment
Ability to:
- Smoothly iterate on designs, taking direction, adjusting, and re-focusing towards a converged design
- Organize deliverables for future reflection and current investigations
- Communicate succinctly and professionally via email, chat, remote meetings, usability evaluations, etc.
- Learn new tools for rapid prototyping
