Digital Product Designer (UX/UI)

As a Product Designer (UX/UI) you will be responsible for design and development of engaging user experiences for a variety of applications. Studies and evaluates how users feel about a system, looking at things like ease of use, perception of the value of the system, utility, efficiency in performing tasks, etc. Translates user needs and business requirements into features and functionality for web/mobile experiences. Develops process flows, wireframes, and prototypes to effectively conceptualize and communicate high-level design strategies. Proficient in design tools (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, InDesign, Visio, etc.).

This will be an on-site position in our Fort Worth, Texas location.

Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:
  • Conduct user research to discover insights, define user personas, and map user journeys to inform the design process.
  • Skilled in creating a range of design artifacts, including wireframes, task flows, screen mock-ups, and interactive prototypes, with a focus on intuitive user experience.
  • Create visually appealing and user-friendly digital experiences that are consistent across multiple platforms, devices, and channels.
  • Develop new product concepts, storyboards, detailed interaction designs and screen flows, and prototypes to clearly articulate solutions.
  • Conduct concept and usability testing to iteratively validate and improve solutions.
  • Actively collaborate as part of an agile team to ensure designs are feasible and implemented accurately.
  • Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions in alignment with the brand.
  • Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs.
  • Facilitate co-creative workshops with key stakeholders to drive alignment and develop new solutions.
  • Track user experience metrics and reports on the success of UX improvements.
  • Mature our Design System through feedback and active contribution of know-how and components.

  • Expertise in utilizing top design software and tools like Figma, FigJam, Miro, Maze, and Dovetail, with the ability to quickly adapt to new tools as needed.
  • Demonstrates a passion for transforming complex concepts into user-friendly digital experiences that adhere to brand standards and enhance user engagement.
  • Integrates human-centered design principles, employing both qualitative and quantitative research methods to weave together a narrative that resonates with users and stakeholders.
  • Experienced in developing and utilizing component-based design systems that allow for scalability and consistency across various platforms and devices.
  • Expertise in utilizing top design software and tools like Figma, FigJam, Miro, Maze, and Dovetail, with the ability to quickly adapt to new tools as needed.
  • Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills, able to work cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality design solutions.
  • Continuously seeks to stay updated with the latest UI/UX trends, technologies, and best practices to drive innovation within the design function.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs;Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • 5 Years of Relevant Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BSc in Design, Computer Science or relevant field and 3 years of professional experience working as Digital Product Designer SaaS, life science or a fast-paced environment
  • A solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns.
  • Expertise in standard UX software such as Figma and Dovetail and the like is a must. Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills are a plus
