Airbnb is looking for a key hire to join the newly formed EX Program Management Office (PMO) as a Senior Employee Experience (EX) Program Manager. Reporting directly to the Director of Program Management for EX, this critical role will design, drive, and execute strategic initiatives that elevate Airbnb’s employee experience and align with our mission to become the most creative company in the world.
Collaborating with senior leaders, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders across EX, and beyond, you’ll ensure impactful program delivery and operational excellence. We value proactive, resourceful problem-solvers who thrive in fast-paced environments and bring a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset to complex challenges.
A typical day:
- Lead the planning and execution of cross-functional programs and strategic initiatives tied to EX and CEO-level goals, ensuring clarity around priorities, deliverables, timelines, and success metrics.
- Turn big ideas into actionable plans with clear governance structures to keep projects moving forward.
- Build operating rhythms that improve ways of working, including communication cadences, key meetings, reporting, and decision-making processes.
- Spot and fix inefficiencies by streamlining workflows and improving processes that drive operational excellence across the EX organization.
- Collaborate with teams across Airbnb, including Legal, Corporate Planning, and others to make sure everyone is aligned and working in harmony.
- Act as the "connector" for cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and removing bottlenecks so work gets done smoothly.
- Craft and deliver top-notch executive presentations for EX leaders—breaking down progress, insights, and recommendations into clear and engaging updates.
- Keep stakeholders informed and engaged: share program updates, address potential risks, and help leadership make well-informed decisions.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team—share best practices, encourage innovation, and find new ways to help everyone work smarter.
- Oversee and manage budgets effectively, partnering with EX Finance to ensure resources are being used efficiently and for maximum impact.
- Work with a passion to create systems, processes, and frameworks that make everyone’s jobs easier and help teams perform at their best.
Your expertise:
- A bachelor’s degree is required; an MBA or advanced degree is a bonus.
- At least 15 years of experience in program management, product management, or business operations, with a proven record of managing complex, cross-functional initiatives from start to finish.
- Strong experience in strategic planning, turning abstract priorities into clear, attainable goals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data and use those insights to drive decisions.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills—you know how to make complex things simple and engaging for any audience.
- A proven ability to lead through influence, align teams, and get buy-in without directly managing people.
- Familiarity with tools like Asana, Airtable, and Google Suite is a plus.
- A collaborative, resourceful mindset with the ability to thrive in fast-paced, ever-changing environments.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and curiosity to always learn better ways of working.
- Experience in HR, Employee Experience, or talent-related initiatives within tech or creative companies is great—but not required.
- Sense of humor, low ego, and willingness to Embrace the Adventure!
