The Enterprise Simulation and Studies Department (ESSD) within the Integrated Data and Applications Subdivision is responsible for developing and applying high quality modeling and simulation capabilities. These capabilities, used in collaboration with domain experts across the Engineering and Technology Group, support a broad range of customers, including the Department of Defense, National Reconnaissance Office, the Intelligence Community, and Civil & Commercial customers. The manager of the Systems Analysis and Modeling Section will be responsible for working with these customers to ensure that appropriate capabilities are being developed to address their biggest challenges. Additionally, the Section Manager will place specific emphasis on modernizing corporate modeling & simulation capabilities and infrastructure, and integrating capabilities to address enterprise-level, cross-mission interdependencies.

This position will be a hybrid work model and offer partially remote with 4 days onsite work required in El Segundo, CA; Colorado Springs, CO or Chantilly, VA

What you'll be doing
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and technical direction for the Systems Analysis and Modeling Section of the Enterprise Simulation and Studies Department
  • Identify, coordinate, and assign work activities for direct reports to design, develop, and maintain a wide range of advanced engineering applications
  • Facilitate timely completion of capability development and analysis efforts
  • Provide quality control to ensure that organizational products are of the highest quality
  • Develop and maintain relationships with peer organizations in the Engineering and Technology Group
  • Develop and maintain relationships with a broad customer base
  • Provide support to organizational leadership in meeting corporate and group objectives
  • Recruit, hire and onboard qualified engineers to meet current and anticipated customer needs
  • Evaluate staff performance and provide frequent, constructive feedback
  • Facilitate career development and mentoring
What you need to be successful

Minimum requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or related subject area from a recognized institution
  • Project leadership and/or management experience
  • 8 or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience
  • Experience in modeling and simulation development and analysis
  • Experience in end-to-end, enterprise-level analysis and understanding of space mission interdependencies
  • Ability to form and lead highly productive intra- and inter-organizational teams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of customers and staff
  • Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance
  • Ability to travel to other national locations periodically
ESSD delivers modeling and simulation capabilities and modern processes and workflows for data-driven decision support and integration across customers for end-to-end, kill/effects chain analysis. You can stand out if you have one or more of these:
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Math, or related subject area from a recognized institution
  • Active Top Secret or SCI clearance
  • Experience in multi-int tracking, tasking, mission management, data transport
  • Understanding of Space C2 processes and relationships
  • Experience with any of the following: Digital Engineering, including modern software development methodologies, tools, processes, and hardware, distributed frameworks, automated workflows with CI/CD, and cloud computing

We offer a competitive compensation package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.

$103,300 - $143,450 - $183,600
