Front End Engineer - Docs Tooling
We're looking for a Front End Engineer to contribute to and enhance our technical documentation platform for Adyen's customers and partners. You’ll be part of our Developer Experience (DevX) group, and you'll collaborate with internal teams and external developers building on our platform daily. In this role, you'll play a part in implementing Adyen's Developer Experience strategy by working with engineers, product teams, technical writers, and external developers to make improvements to our documentation platform. Your goal is to help ensure developers have clear, user-friendly, and accurate resources for building on Adyen.

You'll contribute to our documentation strategy, helping to incorporate developer feedback into our documentation. You'll also assist in shaping the technical direction of our documentation efforts, focusing on improving the product through front-end technical skills and understanding developer needs. Experience with automation and an interest in AI in documentation are a plus.
What You’ll Do
- You’ll be responsible for the full lifecycle of development. This includes communicating with stakeholders (product owners, product designers, account managers, merchants, e.g.), testing, iterating purposefully, and monitoring the impact of your projects.
- You’ll collaborate with stakeholders (product managers, product designers, tech writers, external developers etc.) to identify pain points and surface actionable insights for areas of technical improvements.
- You’ll assist in evaluating and integrating new technologies to enhance the documentation platform.
- You’ll collaborate with other engineers, product designers, and product managers to shape features based on real developer needs, ensuring technical requirements are considered from the outset.
- You’ll contribute to implementing and enhancing deployment and automation tools.
Who You Are
- You’re a Software Engineer with 4 or more years of experience in JavaScript, while knowledge of different frameworks (Nuxt 3) is a big plus.
- You have deep empathy for developers and a solid technical foundation - you’ve built or supported APIs, SDKs, dev tools, integrations, and/or complex products. Experience in docs-as-code principles and Kubernetes is preferred.
- You’re an effective communicator, able to convey technical information into a clear and concise message- and vice versa.
- You’ve worked closely with product and engineering teams and know how to advocate for user needs in a way that drives meaningful technical improvements. You thrive in cross-functional environments - partnering across engineering, product, implementation, and commercial teams.
- You understand how high-quality integrations and community engagement reinforce one another.
- You're comfortable meeting with external developers and other external parties.
- You can independently gather technical requirements and create a plan to execute those requirements.
- You thrive in stepping outside predefined boundaries and deliver impact in ambiguity.
- You’ve a strong interest in exploring and implementing AI solutions.
