Specialist, Corporate Communications Content and Planning

AAA is hiring for a Content & Planning Specialist to join the Corporate Communications team!

As a key member of the Corporate Communications team, this role is deeply involved in the development, execution and management of AAA Club Alliance's corporate communications plan, which is designed to increase Associate understanding, awareness and acceptance of the Club's vision, mission, strategy, direction and business objectives to enable/mobilize Associates to deliver key initiatives and major programs. This position works with functional and business line leaders to develop and plan communications to Associates. The role strives to deliver vibrant, engaging, credible, timely and accurate communications in all media - print, electronic, online, and video- based on the needs of the communication campaign. This position requires strong planning, reporting and writing skills to be able to tell the ACA story using a variety of vehicles.

This position can work from home. The selected candidate must reside within the AAA Club Alliance territory.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates in the development and execution of strategic communications initiatives including creating corporate stories that help enhance Associates' connections to organizational goals
  • Supports communication efforts by researching, writing, and proofreading content to engage Associates at all levels with clear and consistent messaging. Topics span company announcements, leadership communications, scripts, talking points and meeting presentations.
  • Develops internal messaging and comprehensive communication plans in support of business initiatives including measurement and strategy.
  • Serves as the point of contact for functional teams and Lines of Business to help them effectively communicate with Associates.
  • Provides guidance to Lines of Business to support Club and major activities.
  • Updates home page content for the company intranet to ensure the site maintains fresh, engaging information that is updated several times a week.
  • Provides counsel to intranet content managers and editors regarding content placement on the company intranet.
  • Participates in broad and targeted communication measurement activities, such as surveys, focus groups and interviews and then collects and analyzes communications metrics and adjusts plans accordingly.
  • Provides creative ideas to ensure Club stays abreast of internal communication trends and assists in launching new techniques and channels.
  • Serves as a key member of the cross-functional crisis response team for swift alignment of potential crises
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications or a related field such as Journalism, Public Relations, or English; experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • 5-6+ years of experience in strategic communications/corporate communications/crisis communications
  • 3+ years project management experience managing communications
  • Experience with content management systems and other digital communication tools
  • Proven ability to effectively develop comprehensive communication plans; demonstrated communication planning proficiency.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite graphic design is preferred
  • Must be extremely detail oriented, have superior organizational skills, and the proven ability to manage time effectively and juggle multiple assignments with competing deadlines.
  • Talented at storytelling and creating compelling and engaging content.
  • Superior AP style writing and editing skills; ability to edit the work of others and write speeches and presentations for all audiences.
  • Ability to understand the big picture, think strategically, and take action while linking communication plans and activities to business results.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in cross-functional teams and foster collaborative work relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the company, including most senior company management.
  • Results oriented and analytical skills to assess client-level needs and make strategic recommendations to improve outcomes.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and digital publishing.
