Role Description and Expectation

Valued team member working in the advertising, design, and communications space with an emphasis on global health clients and brands. Senior Visual Designer (Studio Lead) leads our São Paulo -based art and design group and is part of a global team (teammates in New York, California, London, and India). The São Paulo art and design group will be focused on creating original design work and executing established designs across a broad range of tactics for US and global brands primarily in the health space. This group will be connected to and working with teams primarily based in the United States. As the Senior Visual Designer (Studio Lead) in our São Paulo office, your role is multifaceted. You will oversee the lead, inspire, organize the team and take responsibility to oversee the output of the Sao Paolo group (graphic design, information, and content design); attract, retain, and grow world-class talent; help create and maintain efficient and effective work practices, establish best practices for creating and maintaining design systems, and act as collaborative partner to creative brand-leads and cross-functional team members.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead group of graphic designers, art directors, assistants, and studio art directors working in support of global health brands
  • Lead and contribute to visual design excellence according to established brand guidelines and standards.
  • Execute a wide variety of tactics which require visual design excellence according to established brand guidelines.
  • Manages and mentor team to ensure the delivery of high-quality design work that is continuously improving.
  • Foster a strong creative culture to extends our already strong global creative culture.
  • Creative and maintain an efficient visual design workflow with strong operational team habits.
  • Learn healthcare design regulations and guide team in their application.
  • Lead team to work within established brand guidelines and health industry regulations to update existing pieces and create new ones based on provided manuscripts.
  • Lead design and formatting of PowerPoint presentations, create animations, create templates.
  • Lead design of illustrations, charts, infographics for educational and promotional purposes
  • Lead design and production of event materials, both digital and print, including signage, brochures, and web pages
  • Lead design of new web pages and follow standards of HTML, that include images, logos, usability, and accessibility.
  • Lead team to ensure files are properly prepared for final release across a variety of mediums including print production, mechanical builds, file structure, and other related issues.
  • Own the final steps of print and digital layout design and delivery.
  • Provide image retouching, clipping paths, and additional image manipulation.
  • Maintain production files, including fonts, images, logos, and other artwork.
  • Update existing files and layouts to incorporate change.
  • Helps set priorities and manages workloads so that assignments are completed within agreed upon time frames.
  • Develops goals with each direct report and conducts performance reviews and regular 1:1s to provide coaching, support career plans, and provide learning opportunities that aligns people's growth to creative department goals.
  • Provide creative feedback and ongoing coaching to grow peoples creative and technical skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to hire and retain highly capable people.
  • Shares experience and knowledge of the industry
  • Collaborate closely with art directors, designers, developers, copywriters, and other cross-functional team members.
  • Interest in incorporating AI tools into work.

Key Requirements

  • Must demonstrate extremely strong layout and graphic design skills across a variety of mediums.
  • Must have experience managing and mentoring others.
  • Must be able to demonstrate effective oral and written English communication skills.
  • Strong typographic and layout skills
  • Ability to design across a broad range of mediums including print, print sales collateral (brochures, fliers), OOH (poster, signage, etc.), power point, digital/interactive (website, social, banner ads), digital sales materials (interactive PDFs, Veeva), video graphic elements, email.
  • Design and organize information into coherent, high impact communications while adhering to established brand guidelines.
  • Skilled working in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), Veeva, Power Point
  • Managerial and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of latest Web and graphic design trends and tools
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work well within a team setting.

Education

  • Advertising and marketing school or coursework
  • Art school or coursework
  • Related areas study

Experience

  • 7+ years advertising, graphic design, studio or related work experience
  • Demonstrated management experience.
