The ZS Legal Team reviews contracts, advises the firm on matters of legal consequence, and proactively assesses and manages the firm's risk exposure. The legal team is responsible for staying abreast of legal developments impacting the firm on a global basis and then advising the firm based on the changing legal landscape.

As we continue to grow our firm, we are currently seeking a Paralegal to join our Chicago- Merchandise Mart office to support the Disputes and Professional Standards function within the ZS Legal Team. We offer a collaborative working environment to support ZS' fast-growing, innovative and cutting-edge services and technology products. As a Paralegal, you will support the ZS Legal Team in its mission to provide legal services to the organization.

SENIOR PARALEGAL - LITIGATION & EMPLOYEE RELATIONS

What You'll Do:

  • Support the Legal Team in managing pre-litigation and litigation matters including employment claims, commercial disputes, and third-party subpoenas;
  • Coordinate document collection, review, and production in response to discovery requests, investigations, and subpoenas;
  • Manage legal hold orders and preservation requests in coordination with the ZS Information Technology Team;
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external counsel;
  • Ensure proper handling of sensitive and confidential materials in accordance with ZS policies;
  • Design, recommend, and implement processes and procedures to enhance organization and efficiency;
  • Support special projects as they arise; and
  • Perform ad hoc legal research.

What You'll Bring:

  • BA/BS degree required with a strong academic record;
  • Paralegal certification;
  • 2-5 years of paralegal or similar experience, preferably with an in-house legal department or top-tier law firm;
  • Knowledge of litigation procedures, document management, and e-discovery protocols;
  • A high degree of professionalism and the ability to exercise sound judgment;
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with a strong ability to review and organize numerous legal documents;
  • Strong attention to detail and organization;
  • Excellent writing skills;
  • Proficient with digital tools and technologies; and
  • Certification as an Illinois notary is desirable.
