Marketing and Communication exists to raise awareness of ZS Associates, brand the firm, create and distribute thought leadership and support business development through with communications and events support.

We are looking for a SENIOR EVENT MARKETING ASSOCIATE to join our marketing and communications team in our Chicago (Merchandise Mart) office. This person will report to the Event Marketing Manager. The primary focus of this role is to manage the strategy and coordination of in-person and digital events, which include both ZS-produced and external sponsored speaking engagements and events.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage events from ideation to post-event analysis to establish yourself as an event expert among ZS marketing and business stakeholders.
  • Build and own effective project plans, conduct regular touch bases with executive stakeholders and escalate risks appropriately to ensure each event achieves established KPIs.
  • Partner closely with SMEs and the growth marketing team to ensure content strategy aligns with event and experiential best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (content, design, web, and demand generation) to ensure objectives are met.
  • Work with growth marketing to create promotional event messaging including emails, landing pages, internal communications, paid promotions, etc. to achieve event goals.
  • Create and manage the registration process for ZS-owned events using Cvent and ON24.
  • Manage and negotiate event contracts. Track and reconcile budget.
  • Travel onsite to events to oversee event operations and logistics and ensure stakeholder/client satisfaction.
  • Deliver post-event reports with data-driven analysis including attendee feedback, goal attainment, and recommendations for future event improvements.
  • Push status quo to implement new ideas and creative approaches to continuously improve the customer experience.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of experience planning and managing business marketing events (i.e., conferences, digital events, trade shows, webinars, roundtables) preferably in a B2B setting
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills: self-motivated and independent
  • Effective when working in a collaborative environment and successful and developing strong working relationships
  • Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and meet deadlines
  • Experience working with senior business leaders and managing multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to travel approximately 20% (more during peak event seasons)
  • CMP preferred
  • Preferred: CMP, ON24 experience, Cvent platform
  • Preferred office locations: Hybrid in our Chicago, IL office
