Head of HEOR- North America

Our HEOR vision is to combine rigorous scientific method with strategic thinking and a consultative style, to become the leading strategic HEOR practice globally. As well as providing core HEOR services, we aim to shape the policy landscape HEOR operates within, be benevolent disruptors, driving the adoption of innovative new approaches, and make HEOR part of the entire the product lifecycle.

While we work as a single, integrated team globally, we believe a strong local presence and leadership is key to our success. To this end, we are seeking a head of HEOR for our North America region.

As part of the global HEOR leadership team, the successful candidate will focus on continuing to develop a Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) discipline. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the HEOR capability and hiring/building team to deliver the work. They will build on and continue to grow internal partnerships with Value and Access, R&D, and client aligned teams, as well as growing and leveraging their own network for business development.

Responsibilites:

  • Be a leader in global HE strategy and capability development for both ZS and our clients, across therapeutic areas;
  • Stay abreast of current business and industry trends relevant to our clients. Develop a strong point-of-view and establish ZS thought leadership in HEOR;
  • Work closely with ZS client teams to lead client business development and client relationship development across our key client accounts;
  • Market our HEOR service line to increase awareness of ZS capabilities and inform our clients' perception of the ZS in HEOR;
  • Consistently deliver quality client services and drive high-quality work products within expected timeframes and on budget; ensure your client teams do the same;
  • Monitor progress, manage risk and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes;
  • Effectively lead and motivate teams with diverse skills and backgrounds;
  • Provide constructive on-the-job feedback/coaching to team members. Foster an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment;
  • Play an active role in counseling and mentoring junior team members within ZS;
  • Demonstrate ability to quickly assimilate new knowledge;
  • Possess in-depth business acumen and help build a growing and profitable HEOR service line for ZS, including delivery of profitable projects, and driving innovation that supports our growth.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant Bachelor's degree (relevant Advanced degree desirable);
  • 12+ years of experience in the life science industry; with 10+ years of previous consulting firm experience;
  • Demonstrated experience and credibility in Health Economics and Outcomes Research;
  • Demonstrable experience driving revenue within existing clients and in developing new prospects;
  • Subject matter expert with e.g. published thought leadership, academic publications, speaking engagements;
  • Experience working with pharma global HQs and the USA market;
  • Characteristics of a forward thinker and self-starter that thrives on new challenges and adapts quickly to learning new knowledge;
  • Ability to lead and manage teams to execute large-scale, cross-functional, global projects;
  • A creative problem solver with a track record of accomplishments in life sciences, HE, HEOR, and consulting;
  • Ability to lead a virtual team of consulting professionals across multiple projects;
  • A high level of motivation and self-starting attitude;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • A strong work ethic;
  • A willingness to travel to meet client needs;
  • Executive-level presence and communication.
