About the role
As a Principal Product Designer on the MoverXP team, you will play a strategic role in shaping Zillow's most critical customer experiences. Your design leadership will directly impact how customers interact with Zillow throughout their moving journey. You'll lead high-impact initiatives, collaborate across disciplines, and champion accessible, innovative solutions that support customers before, during, and after their move. You Will Get To:
- Lead design strategy to create cohesive, engaging experiences across all customer touchpoints.
- Drive initiatives that deliver intuitive and accessible solutions for Zillow's diverse user base.
- Collaborate with design, product, engineering, and marketing leaders to align vision and execution.
- Clarify ambiguity by setting direction and advocating for customer-first experiences through design artifacts and storytelling.
- Champion accessibility, scalability, and inclusivity in all design decisions and systems.
- Explore and implement innovative approaches using AI and the latest design technologies.
- Mentor and guide other designers by sharing best practices and providing feedback.
- Orchestrate design across multiple platforms, including mobile apps and web.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. "Remote" employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.
In California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $178,300.00 - $284,700.00 annually. This base pay range is specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations.In Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Vermont the standard base pay range for this role is $169,300.00 - $270,500.00 annually. The base pay range is specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations.
In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. Employees in this role will not be paid below the salary threshold for exempt employees in the state where they reside.
Who you are
- Minimum of 8 years' experience as a product designer, user experience designer, design lead, or similar role.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual craft and impactful design work.
- Proven ability to connect design strategy to business outcomes, especially in customer engagement and retention.
- Skilled at leading projects across the full product lifecycle, from problem framing to iterative delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and drive impactful results across teams.
- Experience mentoring and providing feedback to other designers.
- Systems thinker with experience designing across multiple platforms and surfaces.
- Clear, empathetic communicator with cross-functional partners and executives.
