Who we're looking for

We are looking for enthusiastic software engineer to become a part of our product team at Zendesk, focused on improving and developing Data Deletion and Redaction capabilities for Zendesk customers. It mainly functions to plan and implement engineering solutions to stay ahead of emerging data privacy laws.

What youll be doing

  • Participate in a unique experience to learn about and support the development of a data deletion solution at Zendesk, assisting in the integration of new and existing products.
  • Get an introduction to every aspect of software engineering: designing, assisting in building, and testing software applications.
  • Discern the factors that influence scalability, performance, maintainability, and security of the technical platform.
  • Actively engage in improving system reliability, stability, and performance, and promoting standard methodologies, high-quality code, and appropriate test coverage among technical contributors.
  • Work with a product manager and partake in agile ceremonies.
  • Collaborate with a product designer to ensure design functionality and UI specs are accurately implemented and aligned with the Zendesk design system.

What you bring to the role

  • An eagerness to learn, collaborate, and positively interact with everyone you meet.
  • A readiness to understand every layer of our technical stack.
  • Familiarity in any of the major programming languages (Java, Ruby, Go, Scala, etc).
  • Experience building scalable, distributed systems.
  • Basic understanding and interest in improving data structures, algorithms and problem-solving skills.
  • Any personal projects, participation in open-source communities or active learning initiatives would be a plus.

Preferred requirements

  • Although no prior experience in this field is required, any relevant experience would be beneficial.
  • An interest in or basic knowledge of security or data privacy and protection space.
  • Prior experience with Ruby on Rails would be ideal.
  • SQL, NoSQL, and object data stores (e.g., MySQL, S3, Redis, DynamoDB, Athena).
  • Interest in exploring infrastructure technologies such as Elasticsearch and information retrieval systems.

The Poland annualized base salary range for this position is zł198,000.00-zł340,000.00. Please note that while the salary range represents the minimum and maximum base salary rate for this position, the actual compensation offered will be based on job related capabilities, applicable experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for bonus, benefits, or related incentives that will be communicated during the offer stage.

Hybrid: In this role, our hybrid experience is designed at the team level to give you a rich onsite experience packed with connection, collaboration, learning, and celebration - while also giving you flexibility to work remotely for part of the week. This role must attend our local office for part of the week. The specific in-office schedule is to be determined by the hiring manager.
