Engineering Manager, Data Analytics

This role will be responsible for the delivery and support of Enterprise Data & Analytics capability. You will lead a distributed team that delivers curated data assets across Zendesk. Your primary responsibility is the health of the team you manage. In addition, you will translate business initiatives to analytics outputs and engage with the Product, Engineering and other partners to ensure successful delivery.

The team is composed of Data Engineers who own the life cycle of organized and rationalized analytic domains. ED&A Engineering Managers will do individual contributions when it makes sense. Collaboration, communication, as well as driving others towards delivery excellence is what we need.

What youll be doing

  • Manage the health & engagement of your team, as well as their growth opportunities
  • Mentor more junior engineers and support their career development
  • Handle the successful delivery of the team's initiatives
  • Own the delivery of data products, as well as the evolution of their characteristics, as requested by the Business Leaders
  • Drive & support engineering excellence across the organization
  • Mange & gather metrics for the respective Analytics Teams
  • Individual Contribution to building data domains with data engineers

What you bring to the role

  • Managerial experience (3+ years), ideally leading data engineering teams
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in data engineering, delivering data products & insights
  • Proficiency with SQL & any programming language (e.g. Python)
  • Validated management experience building technical teams with shown success of data transformation
  • Lead with emotional intelligence using the knowledge and experience of how data assets are prioritized, crafted, delivered, used, and matured
  • Consistent track record of coaching/mentoring individual contributors, as well as crafting a culture and team appreciating diversity and inclusion.
  • Experience leading SCRUM/Agile delivery teams
  • Experience in the data analytics space
  • Experience working with globally distributed teams preferred

The Poland annualized base salary range for this position is zł286,000.00-zł428,000.00. Please note that while the salary range represents the minimum and maximum base salary rate for this position, the actual compensation offered will be based on job related capabilities, applicable experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for bonus, benefits, or related incentives that will be communicated during the offer stage.
