Development Engineer

POSITION PURPOSE

The Development Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and refining products or systems from concept through production. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring innovative solutions to market and continuously improve existing technologies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and develop new products, components, or systems based on customer and market requirements.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation including specifications, test plans, and reports.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and prototyping.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, quality, and marketing.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for product issues.
  • Support product testing, validation, and certification processes.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Materials Science / Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field from an accredited University. Advanced degree is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in product development within a manufacturing environment, experience working within the casting industry a plus.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Proficient or aptitude to develop proficient understanding of investment casting and capable to guide key decisions with the engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve technical challenges and maintain key characteristics and well as program timing.
  • Must be proficient in the use of quality measuring methods and standards, capable to utilize CMM and vison scanning a bonus.
  • Ability to read blueprints understanding dimensioning and tolerances including GD&T is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with vendors, team members, and executives.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools (i.e. MSOffice, MS Project, SAP)
  • Excellent project management skills with a proven track record of successfully managing complex product development projects at various stages of lifecycle.
