Certification Specialist

Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Certification Specialist to join our Government Relations team in either Cypress, CA or Kennesaw, GA. The Certification Specialist will ensure Yamaha products comply with all Federal/State regulations. Complete, file and secure necessary Federal and State emission certificates. They will be responsible for emission certification of various product groups with regulatory agencies, as well as participating in external industry association and working groups on regulatory issues. Communications both internally and externally on current certification status and scheduling.

What you'll be doing:

  • Preparation and management of emissions certification applications to State and Federal regulatory agencies.
  • Provide technical guidance both internally and externally on vehicle mechanical and emissions system functions.
  • Liaison to Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd and related subsidiaries concerning emissions applications and product line certification issues.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and changes. Implement and communicate changes as required in core tasks with Divisional Management, BU, YMC and appropriate affiliates.
  • Liaison to applicable Federal/State regulatory agencies.
  • Liaison to applicable industry trade associations and regulatory bodies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Decision Making:

  • Must be able to accel with limited/minimal supervision
  • No direct reports or budget responsibility.

What you'll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in related studies strongly preferred
  • 3-5 years demonstrable experience in similar/related field
  • Proficient in MS Office

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of Yamaha product and mechanical systems preferred
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with internal Yamaha systems and programs preferred
  • Understanding of government regulations, industry practices and an understanding of emissions testing procedures, emissions applications
  • Experience with outside association a plus
  • Familiarity with EPA and CARB emissions application systems preferred
  • Attention to detail as must
  • Ability to manage multiple task, projects and certification applications simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal skills

Pay:

$86,000 to $172,000

Yamaha intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related experience. Base pay is part of Yamaha's Total Reward program, our Talent Acquisition Team will share more details as candidates progress.
