Accounting Assistant

Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for an Accounting Assistant to join our Financial Services team in Cypress, CA. The Accounting Assistant will work to support Corporate Accounting and activities related to account/affiliate payable, trade account/affiliate receivable, benefits payable, expense report processing and other administrative accounting functions as needed.
What you'll be doing:

• Process all invoices for payment in SAP (current ERP system) via Open Invoice or direct input, and ensure that invoices are properly approved, supported and reconciled to the sub-ledger. Responsible for setting up new vendors, collecting and updating banking information.
• Serve as a lead with the company's procured to pay initiatives that include travel, employee reimbursement, p-card and meeting card programs.
• Assist the Corporate Controller in processing employee benefits via an upload of data received from Human Resources or other vendors to include insurance, 401K, travel, p-card, etc.
• Adhere to the global month-end closing schedule including the preparation of the month-end reports and all related general ledger reconciliations.
• Research all vendor/customer/parent/affiliate statements upon receipt and answer all inquiries.
• Assist with other projects as needed.

• Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts Payable or Receivable Clerk.
• Associate's degree or relevant work experience is a plus.
• 2 - 4 years working in accounting or general office.
• Self-motivated, strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
• Proficient in Word and Excel, SAP a plus.
