What is the WWT Mobile Team and why join?

The WWT Mobile Team's main responsibility is building and maintaining the WWT mobile app, on-site check-in kiosks, and other mobile-based projects aimed at creating unique user experiences. You'll join a team of passionate software developers and QA Engineers focused on the evolution of the WWT mobile app, which is used each day to help our customers make technology decisions and demonstrate the high technological capabilities and innovation associated with our brand.

Here are some recent examples of the impactful work we've been involved in:

  • Currently building a field event check-in ecosystem where users are sent a barcode that can be scanned at event-specific Kiosks or from the mobile app to check into their events.
  • Developing an iPad app to support a Mascot costume that is being built. The app displays a Robot face that animates through wired communication with another iOS device that detects and parses the wearer's facial movement
  • Built an AI-backed Image generation tool that our platform content creators use to generate content header images.
  • Rebuilt our native Swift and Kotlin mobile apps in Flutter to ease maintenance, enable faster feature development, and support simultaneous releases across platforms. Developed this iteratively over a few years screen-by-screen while continuing to develop other application features.
  • Yearly support for the WWT Championship golf tournament, including building production-quality features to support unique location needs.
  • Integrated SurveyJS surveys into the WWT mobile app as a way of capturing event-specific attendee data. Contributed heavily to the open-source SurveyJS Flutter framework to fix bugs and make it adaptable to meet our needs.
  • Rebuilt a web sign-in Kiosk in Flutter that scans employee badges from an external badge reader and facilitates guest sign-ins at WWT Global Headquarters.
