What is the AI Center of Excellence Team and why join?
This is an exciting opportunity to be a founding member of a new team focused on building a foundational set of core Generative AI services designed to enable teams to solve demanding business problems at scale for WWT (World Wide Technology).
What will you be doing?
As a Full Stack Developer on the team, you will be responsible for building software in an agile environment using a wide array of programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Here are some things the team will be working on this year:
- Exposing custom-built WWT GPT system to customers via wwt.com.
- Expanding custom document summarization & generation of RFP (Request for Proposal) tool to other business use cases.
- Support product delivery teams with the buildout of additional Generative AI Projects.
- Delivering an agent-based AI solution.
Responsibilities:
- Build working software and deliver technical solutions that consistently exceed stakeholder expectations using web and AI technologies.
- Ensure software and solutions scale well, are cost-effective, and adhere to software development best practices.
- Stay current on emerging technologies, techniques, and patterns in the web and AI space.
- Make process and technology recommendations and assist with adoption.
- Provide technical and professional mentoring for team members.
- Lead projects and complex assignments with broad and ambiguous scope.
- Interact directly with stakeholders to understand functional requirements and needs.
- Demo solutions and communicate status to stakeholders at all levels.
- Participate in ideation sessions and strategic planning.
- Help foster a team-first environment grounded on an understanding of and a commitment to the WWT Core Values
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, MIS, a technical-related field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years' experience developing distributed/scalable systems.
- Demonstrated proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, or C++.
- Ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
- Proficiency in developing and consuming APIs.
- Thorough understanding of what it takes to deliver an application from inception to production.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Opinionated but you appreciate an environment where feedback is freely given, and your ideas are challenged.
- Comfortable mentoring other developers.
- Experience working with the OpenAI SDK and AI Frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, or AutoGen) strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their AI services is a strong plus.
