We are looking for a Security Engineer to provide engineering and design services for the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) IT infrastructure under the Revolutionary Information Technology Services (RITS) contract.

Working and building infrastructure throughout the world in support of the USACE mission. RITS will include the opportunity to move additional IT services to the cloud, and streamline end user support and services, while building and maintaining state of the art solutions.

What will you be doing?

The selected candidate will work on engineering projects related to revolutionizing the USACE infrastructure. This position will define project scope and objectives and develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, status reports and project deliverables for network related engineering requests. Provides technical and analytical guidance to enterprise engineering team and enterprise operations. Collaborates with and assists the Network architect and engineering team on other engineering projects and tasks. Participates in high-level enterprise architecture analysis, evaluation, design, integration, documentation, and development. Recommends and takes action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate openly and frankly with all internal and external partners, such as Government Engineers, Contractor Engineers, Contractor Operations staff, Management, and 3rd party vendors
  • Work independently, including the self-management of projects. Help others and ask for help without hesitation.
  • Ensure timely delivery of all Engineering Service Requests, removing any obstacles to completing work as scheduled
  • Perform risk analysis of each Engineering Service Request, and inform all stakeholders of the applicable risks
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership on the Cyber Security needs of all software and hardware used in the Corps of Engineers' environment, which includes, in part, products by Cisco, Palo Alto, Check Point, Microsoft, Symantec, McAfee, Computer Associates, BMC, etc., and the integration of new Cyber Security products within the Corps of Engineers' environment
  • Provide guidance to enterprise operations on technical solutions and provide Tier 4 support
  • Collaborate with the Cyber Security Architect to develop the Technology Refresh Plan, and the Capacity and Demand Management Plan for the environment's Cyber Security area, in accordance with the Technology Target Architecture, and in collaboration with the Government Engineering team, Enterprise Operations team, and fellow contractor engineers
  • Assist with, or design new implementations of the Cyber Security stack, and after Information Assurance review, coordinate the installation of them with the DevOps Engineer, Enterprise Operations, and relevant stakeholders
  • Perform detailed market research, develop Bills of Materials for Government consumption
  • Document Cyber Security architecture, including network port connectivity, and design choices of the associated applications (Low Level Design, High Level Design)
  • Integrate Cyber Security systems into the enterprise Configuration Management Database
  • Automate facets of the Cyber Security environment, including deployment, SSL certificate monitoring/requests, patching and upgrades in coordination with DevOps Engineers
  • Provide secure, reliable, and high performing configurations of the Cyber Security environments
  • Stay current with trends in the industry
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Interim Secret Clearance required prior to start
  • Engineer will possess an IAT III certification (CISSP, CASP+, etc...)
  • At least 14 years job experience in a related field
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent proven experience
  • Proven experience designing solutions for network security in an enterprise environment
  • Proven experience managing security devices for intrusion detection/prevention, firewalls authentication, PKI, web filtering, and other security solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present ideas in a business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • Knowledge of DISA STIGs and utilizing the STIG Viewer
  • General knowledge of industry security frameworks
  • Working technical knowledge of networks, operating systems, and applications
