World Wide Technology, Inc. has an opportunity available for a Day 2 Support Engineer, specializing in SD-WAN technologies, to support our Advanced Technology Solutions group. The Engineer will be working with our Day 2 Support customers both in an advisory role and change implementor. This position is remote but may require 10% travel.
Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions/Competencies
- Review and validate understanding of customer environment requirements
- Perform installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of customer-managed hardware, software, and peripheral devices
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed
- Ability to read and understand a Statement of Work
- A self-starter that can work remotely or with little supervision
- Provide peer reviews for engineering teams to ensure design compliance
- Coach and mentor other engineers on best practices
- Manage, configure, & troubleshoot components of SD-WAN technologies with a focus on Viptela and Meraki
- Manage, configure and troubleshoot components of Fortinet and Palo Alto devices in SD-WAN environment.
- Attend and lead customer facing meetings/discussions
- Advanced understanding of SD-WAN protocols
- Assist peer engineers with related Managed Services technologies as skillset allows
- Deliver consistently high levels of customer service while operating in a 24/7/365 environment (8 hour shifts + on-call rotation)

Work Experience
- 7 to 12 years' experience deploying and implementing core route/switch and data center networks by industry best practices
- Experience deploying and implementing Viptela SD-WAN solutions would be an added advantage
- SD-WAN implementation and migration experience
- SDA implementation experience
- Familiar with design best practices for core network and SD-WAN solutions
- Experience initiating and working through OEM TAC cases
- Extensive Nexus 7K/5K/2K experience is required
- Experience with logical design models (L2/L3, VPC, VDC, Datacenter Zones, Spanning tree, VFR, VTP, VLANs, physical cabling)
- Working technical knowledge of network control protocols (QOS, PfR, PoE, NTP, DHCP), network management protocols (CDP, FTP, TFTP, SNMP), and security protocols (SSH, HTTPS, AAA, IPSec, TustSec)
- Strong IP communication and routing knowledge are required (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP)
- Experience with inter-company routing is preferred
- Understand WAN/LAN and transport technologies (Ethernet, Frame Relay, DMVPN, WAAS, and MPLS)
- Experience with network automation using Ansible or other orchestration tools
- Configuration management of networking devices using automation tools (APIC-EM, Cisco Prime) and API scripting with Python
- Cisco partner post-sales consulting experience is strongly preferred
- Experience with Fortinet and/or Palo Alto SD-WAN solutions
- Ability to cross train other engineering team members
- Able to conduct research into networking issues and products as required
- Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
