Position Overview:

WWT is currently seeking a Principal Data Security Consultant with a strong background in Data Security Governance and a strong focus on Policy, Classification, Data Leakage Prevention (DLP), encryption (e.g., PKI, KMS, HSM, or certificate management), and the use of related AI-powered platforms to support a wide range of clients as a key member of the Global Security Consulting practice at WWT. This role's primary focus will be to collaborate with other WWT service offerings to design and implement mature data security solutions for cybersecurity engagements with WWT's Fortune 500 customers.

The Principal Data Security Consultant will take a leadership role in delivering outcomes across a wide range of global clients. This will be accomplished by engaging with customer leadership to define priorities and outcomes for engagements, expanding the capabilities and offerings of the practice and delivering on consulting engagements in a leadership capacity. In addition to delivering high-quality, security improving outcomes to WWT's customers, the role will also be instrumental in supporting the solution manager in the evolution of the data security service offering and the sales organization with pre-sales support and enablement. Meticulous observation, creativity beyond traditional formulas, and a "never satisfied" perspective will be key factors in contributing to a team ethic of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Focus:

  • Continuing education on the Data Security and Data Protection landscape, including new evolving standards in post-quantum cryptography standards, challenges to data classification in a cloud environment (e.g., classification accuracy, insufficient cloud visibility, regulatory compliance, key management, data lifecycle management, distributed data storage, data volume and velocity, etc.).
  • Develop and deliver briefings, workshops, assessments, and trainings as foundational offerings to engage WWT's customers in new pursuits.
  • Build and support marketing and digital platform initiatives.

Creative Solutioning:

  • Understand and describe the security interplay in the areas of application assurance, data classification, network security, and emerging IT trends and threats in the context of a customer environment.

Strategic Client Relationship Management:

  • Use a strategic approach to managing customer interactions and data throughout the customer journey with a goal of higher business growth through better customer experiences

Commercial Success:

  • Develop engagement reports and supporting presentations for both client and internal discussions with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Educate and enable our field organization on offerings, allowing them to correctly identify, size/scope, sell and deliver opportunities and solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with the overall Data Security Solution Manager (Product Owner), and provide architectural input and support that refines and evolves the service offering.

End to End Solution Management/Delivery

  • Assess overall data lifecycle and its security challenges within a customer environment, identify key strategic issues with the data governance, data policy, (AI-)data governance, data classification, confidentiality, integrity and availability which may include but is not limited to data leakage prevention, and encryption programs and operations.
  • Advise on the best course of action or roadmap to establish or improve data security governance, including recommendations and tooling, to develop and implement solutions successfully.

Qualifications:

Primary Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in data classification, DLP, and encryption roles, architecting/consulting solutions, with a focus on large enterprise customers.
  • 3+ years of service scoping and delivery experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation), especially in presenting to an executive audience.
  • Passion for identifying and cultivating new business opportunities.
  • Experience developing original content (PowerPoint and blog articles).
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment to produce outstanding results.
  • Superior organizational, conflict resolution, and time management skills.
  • Strong business and sales acumen.
  • Self-Motivated to maintain up-to-date knowledge of new technologies and develop a view of upcoming (data) security topics and technologies.

Specific Technology and Cybersecurity Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of data classification and DLP methodologies and technologies, encryption protocols, and key management.
  • Deep familiarity with DLP solutions and technologies (e.g., Cisco Cloud Data Loss Prevention (C-DLP), Code42, Forcepoint, Varonis Data Security Platform, etc.). Experience in implementing, configuring, and managing DLP tools to monitor, detect, and prevent data leakage incidents.
  • Solid knowledge of AI concepts such as Large Language Models (LLM) and Machine Learning (ML) and their use cases in the data lifecycle.
  • In-depth expertise and working knowledge of industry security frameworks, such as ISO 27001 & 2, ISO 27005, and NIST SP 800-37, 800-60, 800-53 and Cybersecurity Framework, HIPAA Security Rule and HITECH Act.
  • Extensive knowledge of a variety of encryption standards or protocols, such as AES, RSA, ECC, Diffie-Hellman, IPsec, WPA3, AES-GCM, and TLS.
  • Experience with Key Management Systems (on-prem & cloud), such as Thales or HSMs a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field (Master's degree preferred) a plus.
  • Industry certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) a plus.
