What will you be doing?

The System Engineer is an IT engineer who works with WWT customers to design, develop, and deploy agile, secure sustainable solutions to enable critical organizational transformation. This individual is responsible for creating new flexible architectures/solutions to complex business problems. In addition, the role will drive the creation of IT architecture plans, data interchange solutions, and integrated work plans that enable customers to act on strategic initiatives.

This is a unique opportunity to support US Government clients primarily but also could support commercial customers based on business needs. Therefore, candidates with existing US government Top Secret SCI security clearance are strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with customers to understand their current and future needs, set objectives, align the scope, and execute against them.
  • Fosters relationships by working closely on complex technology initiatives with our WWT Teams and customers.
  • Responsible for developing enterprise architecture blueprints that articulate future state technology architecture, data exchanges, and execution roadmaps.
  • Help architect solutions that enable our customers to achieve best-in-class performance, reliability, and privacy, while adhering to industry-standard architectural principles.
  • Conduct architecture and technical workshops that may include enablement sessions.
  • Provide insight and guidance to teams consisting of WWT experts deploying complex solutions that span security, big data infrastructure, analytics, machine learning, and application development.
  • Help build the team through mentorship and guidance of junior members.
  • Participate in industry, product, and procedural training to maintain the knowledge and certifications necessary to be effective.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or computer science/engineering and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum eight years of progressive engineering leadership experience in a highly complex, sophisticated environment.
  • Advanced understanding of data governance and strategy, large-scale data infrastructure (network, storage, compute, virtualization), and information security.
  • Proficient in viewing enterprise challenges from a business, application, and technology perspective to identify and implement solutions to complex data questions.
  • Previous experience and understanding of government security guidelines and implementation such as RMF, ATO.
  • Proficient in developing solutions in a Red Hat ecosystem for application development and platform architecture.
  • Proficient in developing conceptual architectures and data integrations.
  • Proficient in developing and executing high-level designs.
  • Proficient in cloud platform architecture and design, including SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS.
  • Understanding design patterns for solutions that require data access, movement, and transformation.
  • Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven track record of working with subject matter experts, consultants, professional services, IT, operations, and others over the technology lifecycle.
  • Strong ability to think creatively and strategically.
  • Proven collaborative approach; openly sharing information and receptive to the ideas of others.
  • Experience leading the development of enterprise architectures, cloud environments, and application frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience working with geographically (and potentially globally) dispersed teams.
  • Record of building high-trust relationships
  • Active US Government security clearance at Secret level required/Top Secret SCI level highly preferred
  • Ability to travel internationally for two weeks at time throughout the year.
