Position Summary

The Business Development Associate will play a critical role in managing the partnership growth into our new markets outside of healthcare alongside senior leadership through sponsorship sales. The focus and expansion will be within the Innovator community for DEI, Marketing Tech, Procurement and Legal Tech. This person will have the opportunity to develop and execute a strategic sales plan for this important growth engine of our Innovation Roundtables, all while building relationships with key stakeholders inside and outside of our business. Strong candidates operate with a sense of urgency, make connections easily and enjoy the challenge of developing long-term relationships across different people and personalities. This role will work closely with key stakeholders across the business to ensure we are growing relationships with the correct audiences, as well as streamlining our offerings.

Business Development Associate Responsibilities

Strategic planning to achieve personal sales targets
Ensure revenue and renewal sales targets are hit
Building business plans for achieving targets (monthly revenues, event and product profitability)
Manage and grow a portfolio of key accounts as well as develop a book of new business
Liaise with Marketing and other key departments to ensure sales and other functions are aligned
Participate in management meetings to accelerate the growth of the business and work closely with the senior management team to ensure that all stakeholders are informed of the progress of the sales team
Sell partnership product portfolio to existing clients
Write strategic proposals to clients, ensuring that all business development activities are coordinated and executed in a timely manner
Schedule and attend client meetings, eventually leading
Continually improve existing processes to build a best-in-class client experience
Manage invoice and renewal process
Experience and Education

Strong work ethic and willingness to take ownership for wide-ranging responsibilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the flexibility to accommodate different situations and temperaments

Strong writing and proofreading skills
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Proven sponsorship sales professional who is used to working to targets
Proven track record in key account management, closing business and increasing revenue
Self-starter who is target-driven and highly self-motivated
A track record of consistent over achievement versus target is essential
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Commercially astute
Excellent time management, an individual who thrives on working autonomously
Experience with CRM database (Salesforce.com a plus)
Demonstrate poise in personal interactions with C-level executives
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications or Marketing preferred
