The Government Contract Services Accounting Manager role can be based out of any of our East Coast office locations (Boston, MA; Woburn, MA; Braintree, MA; New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Princeton, NJ; East Brunswick, NJ; Red Bank, NJ; Whippany, NJ; Saddle Brook, NJ; Providence, RI; Bethesda, MD (DC); Baltimore, MD; Nashville, TN; Boca Raton, FL; Orlando, FL). How You’ll Spend Your Time: 

  • Provide internal and external consulting to accounting teams on FAR, DFARS, CAS and other regulations to ensure adherence to applicable federal regulations and contract requirements
  • Assist with client proposals; including strategic pricing and preparation of cost volumes
  • Reviews and develops client policies and procedures related to accounting, pricing, and procurement
  • Maintaining productivity of team members
  • Establishing deadlines for deliverables while maintaining a favorable budget
  • Supervising and reviewing the preparation of workpapers
  • Assisting with the preparation of Incurred Cost Submissions, Provisional Rate Calculations, Forward Pricing, Indirect Cost Rate Models
  • Assisting with the preparation of contracts/grants financial reporting; Reviewing final deliverables to clients
  • Assisting team members with preparing project budgets and forecasts
  • Supervising and reviewing the preparation of trend analysis of P&L and indirect cost rates
  • Validating the classification, allocability, and allowability of cost based on FAR part 31 and cost accounting standards
  • Ensuring clients business systems are compliant with FAR/DFARS/CAS and industry best practices

The Kinds of People We Want to Talk to Have Many of The Following: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred
  • 5+ years of financial reporting, cost accounting, project-based accounting, public accounting, and/or, consulting experience
  • 5+ years of federal government contracting experience
  • 5+ years managing projects and leading teams
  • Ability to perform full lifecycle accounting (Revenue, Expenditure, Production, Payroll, and Financing cycles)
  • Proficient with Unanet, Costpoint, and/or JAMIS Prime
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel and/or Power BI developing financial models
  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP, FAR, DFARS, CAS, ASC
  • Detailed and results-oriented and ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with limited direction/supervision
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and career driven
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and project management skills

In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual’s skills, experience and qualifications. Washington, D.C. ranges are from $140,000 - $170,000
NYC ranges are from $140,000 - $170,000
