Job Description for Data Profiling, Reconciliation-BODS Lead
As a Data Profiling and Reconciliation-BODS Lead in a data migration project from legacy systems to SAP S/4HANA IS-U, you will oversee the critical processes of ensuring data fidelity through comprehensive profiling and reconciliation. This role requires expert knowledge in utilizing SAP BusinessObjects Data Services (BODS) for effective data management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Profiling:
- Implement data profiling over BODS Designer by configuring Profiler Repository using Repository Manager and assigning it to a Job Server using Server Manager
- Engage in Normal & Detailed Profiling to assess unique values, nulls, and data distribution within source columns
- Conduct Relationship Profiling to evaluate data matchability between legacy and future target systems
2. Data Reconciliation:
- Design and execute reconciliation jobs using SAP Data Services to securely compare source and target datasets, addressing any discrepancies
- Utilize data mapping, lookup, joining, and filtering techniques in the reconciliation process

3. Extraction, Transformation, and Loading (ETL):
- Oversee ETL processes using BODS, including data extraction from diverse sources, transforming data according to SAP IS-U requirements, and loading into SAP systems
- Ensure data quality and cleansing through Data Quality transformations and validation checks
4. Fallout Reports and Error Resolution:
- Generate fallout reports to capture migration errors and collaborate with stakeholders on error resolution .
- Validate and enrich data before loading to SAP systems, ensuring integrity and compliance with SAP standards
5. Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Engage with functional and business counterparts to understand migration requirements and address data inconsistencies collaboratively
Qualifications
• Expertise in SAP Data Services and SAP BusinessObjects Data Services for data migration and profiling activities.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret and transform legacy data for SAP integration.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills for managing cross-functional stakeholder engagement.
Additional Skills (Optional)
• Proficiency in ABAP for advanced reconciliation management and reporting.
• Familiarity with IDOC generation and management during SAP data migration.
• This role is pivotal in ensuring data accuracy and integrity through advanced profiling and reconciliation techniques that support the successful migration of data to SAP S/4HANA IS-U.
