Oracle database JD:
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with a focus on Oracle database migrations. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in planning, executing, and optimizing complex database migrations across on-premise and cloud environments. This role requires deep expertise in Oracle database architecture, performance tuning, and data integrity, along with proven experience managing end-to-end migration projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and execute Oracle database migrations, including upgrades, platform migrations (Linux and AIX), and cloud transitions (OCI, Azure).
• Use Oracle tools (e.g., Data Pump, RMAN, Data Guard) for data transfer and replication.
• Optimize database performance before and after migration to ensure minimal downtime and high availability.
• Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software.
• Ensure data security and integrity by implementing appropriate access controls and encryption methods.
• Support disaster recovery initiatives and participate in failover planning and testing.
• Collaborate with application developers and system administrators to provide database support for new and existing applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents and provide timely status updates.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience (3-5+ years) as an Oracle DBA in a production environment.
• Proficiency in Oracle versions.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle Data Guard, RMAN, ASM, OEM, and PL/SQL.
• Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with AIX/Linux operating systems and shell scripting.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Azure) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Certifications:
• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
• Oracle Certified Associate (OCA)
• Oracle Autonomous Database Cloud Certifications (optional)
Please find the required JD for SQL DBA:
- Should have experience on Microsoft SQL Database migration in both IaaS as well as in PaaS.
- Hands on experience on Azure SQL database(PaaS): creation and deletion of database, Scaling and descaling of database, creation of logins/users and providing access and permissions to the logins/users.
- Worked on Export and Import technique for restoring database in Azure SQL database server using SSMS , SQL package and azure portal.
- Worked on Azure SQL VM(IaaS): Database backup & restore, migrating logins, fixing orphaned users, migrating jobs , linked servers etc.
- Worked on setting up SQL backup in Recovery Service Vault for Azure SQL VM.
- Should have knowledge on T-SQL query.
- Hands on experience on activities in Azure Portal like Raising PIM request, getting details from Key Vault, download and upload files from & to Storage account, reset the password for the server account from Azure portal for the SQL Server.
