OpenShift Administrator

Locations: Strongsville, Pittsburgh, Dallas, Birmingham, Phoenix

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain RedHat OpenShift clusters (version 4.x and above) ensuring optimal performance, availability, and scalability of containerized applications.
  • Lead participation in 24x7 on-call production support rotations, swiftly addressing critical issues and minimizing downtime.
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain automation scripts and tools using shell scripting and Python to streamline operations and elevate monitoring capabilities.
  • Implement and enhance CI/CD pipelines leveraging Jenkins, GitOps strategies, ArgoCD, and other DevOps technologies to accelerate delivery cycles and improve deployment reliability.
  • Conduct cluster-level troubleshooting including container orchestration, pod scheduling, resource management, and debugging complex issues to resolve incidents promptly.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, network engineers, and security professionals to design robust solutions and enhancements for container infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with security best practices and organizational policies during cluster configuration and upgrades.
  • Monitor platform health using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, FluentD, and other monitoring tools, generating actionable insights and preemptive alerts.
  • Continuously research, evaluate, and implement emerging technologies and best practices in container orchestration and cloud-native environments to maintain a competitive advantage.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience managing RedHat OpenShift platforms, preferably version 4.x or later.
  • Strong foundation in Linux system administration, with proficiency in RedHat Linux and CoreOS environments.
  • Advanced scripting skills in Shell Bash and Python for automation and operational efficiency.
  • Solid grasp of container orchestration concepts, pod management, and cluster troubleshooting techniques.
  • Proficiency with DevOps tools including Jenkins, Git, Ansible, Helm, Docker, and experience executing GitOps workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting production environments with incident management and root cause analysis expertise.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, and FluentD.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with a diverse team and articulate technical concepts clearly.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and deliver timely resolutions.

Expected annual pay for this role ranges from $45,000 to $110,000 . Based on the position, the role is also eligible for Wipro's standard benefits including a full range of medical and dental benefits options, disability insurance, paid time off (inclusive of sick leave), other paid and unpaid leave options.
