DESCRIPTION:
The Fund Accounting Manager is responsible for the accounting, reporting, and compliance functions for designated real estate investment funds. This role ensures accurate and timely preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, assists in audit processes, coordinates capital activity, and provides analytical support to fund leadership. The Fund Accounting Manager collaborates closely with asset management, investor relations, treasury, and corporate accounting teams to deliver high‑quality financial reporting and support strategic decision‑making.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare quarterly and annual fund level financial statements, supporting schedules, and workpapers.
- Ensure timely preparation of GAAP compliant financial reports, including consolidation entries, eliminations, and footnotes.
- Review property level financial statements and ensure accuracy in consolidation.
- Prepare or review quarterly cash flow statements and performance metrics.
- Perform variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
- Capital Activity & Investor Reporting
- Prepare capital calls, distributions, and partner allocations.
- Prepare investor reporting deliverables: quarterly reports, capital account statements, and fee calculations.
- Ensure compliance with partnership agreements, waterfalls, and investor requirements.
- Audit, Tax & Compliance
- Serve as a contact for interim and year end audits.
- Prepare audit support and respond to auditor inquiries.
- Prepare year-end property and fund level tax packages.
- Maintain internal controls and adherence to accounting policies and regulatory requirements.

- Operational Oversight & Process Improvement
- Supervise and mentor fund accounting staff.
- Oversee monthly and quarterly close processes.
- Collaborate with Treasury on cash management and funding.
- Identify opportunities for automation and workflow improvements.
- Technical & Strategic Support
- Interpret partnership agreements, loan documents, and transaction files.
- Support acquisition, disposition, financing, and restructuring activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- CPA or progress toward CPA strongly preferred.
- 5–8 years of experience in real estate fund accounting, private equity, or public accounting. A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a managerial role.
- Strong working knowledge of consolidation and real estate structures.
- Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and technical accounting skills.
- Proficiency with Yardi, Workiva, Excel, and related financial systems.
- Experience using Yardi IM and Performance manager for performance calculations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Leadership capability with a collaborative mindset.
COMPENSATION:
- Our company considers a range of factors including education and experience when determining base compensation.
- Compensation range: $110,000 - $125,000.
