Position Summary

As a core member of the Global People Team you are tasked with helping White & Case translate our business strategy into talent imperatives that deliver on our 2025 vision of profitable growth, engaged people and outstanding client relationships.

The People Advisory Coordinator supports the People Advisory team, across a variety of both administrative and strategic HR priorities. You will act as the first line of HR administrative support for our employees across both the Firm's legal sections and business services functions. By supporting the Firm's employment life-cycle, you will have the opportunity to interact with all levels of employees on a variety of topics.

The tracking and reporting of People data is a critical part of our daily work. You will have opportunities to help globally align processes and procedures to drive cultural change and engagement across the Firm.

You will work collaboratively across the People team throughout all of the above by sharing best practices, leveraging backgrounds and skills sets to achieve a cohesive one-team and ultimately one-Firm experience.

Duties and Responsibilities 1
  • Update and maintain HR systems, including Taleo and PeopleSoft; develop and provide regular reports on HR activity
  • Support people development planning to ensure all Legal and Business Services professionals are on boarded, resourced, trained, mobilized, and developed in a way that benefits both the individual and the Firm
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding Firm policies and procedures
  • Administer referral bonus program for employees
  • Conduct and participate in the local new hire orientation and integration programs
  • Collaborate with Benefits to provide comprehensive service and information with respect to the full employee lifecycle, including advising on leaves of absence, paid time off, etc.
  • Participate in exit interviews for all employees, reporting regularly on the data gathered from those interviews and making recommendations for employee retention
  • Contribute to building and fostering a collaborative, collegial, high performing team committed to professional excellence; perform other miscellaneous tasks as assigned
  • Engage with People Advisory Managers on key annual initiatives that include, but are not limited to, performance evaluations and compensation reviews
  • Exercise good judgement; identify and escalate potential employee relations matters in a proactive manner to People Advisory Managers

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of professional services, talent management and/or HR experience, and working across a regional, global, or remote cross-border teams
  • Experience with shared service capability
  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Legal or other professional services experience preferred
  • Self-motivated and achievement oriented
  • Open minded and collaborative with a consultative approach
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Calm and resilient
  • Excellent business acumen and administrative skills
  • Able to manage competing/conflicting priorities effectively to achieve a way forward
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

Location and Reporting
  • This is a hybrid in-office/remote role based in our New York office.
  • This role reports to the People Advisory Manager, Business Services.
