About the Team/Role

This opportunity is under Fleet, collaborates with internal stakeholders to identify business opportunities and solve business problems and support strategic initiatives. Our vision is to become a hyper-performing team that propels the WEX North America Platform software delivery capability through DevOps leadership, self-service enablement, and engineering discipline. The goal of this role is to contribute to the design and development of the DevOps automation tools and pipelines needed for the continuous integration, delivery, and release of fleet builds. A key part of the role is to partner with the entire delivery team, understand their needs, and implement forward-looking solutions that will meet those needs.

The position requires a familiarity with agile methodologies and a contribution to driving standardization and automation from concept to implementation.

How you'll make an impact
  • Be a key contributor to the North American Fleet DevOps multi-cloud journey, both as a strategist and tactician
  • Architect, design, and develop automation and framework solutions
  • Create build and release pipelines (AWS, Azure DevOps, Jenkins)
  • Deploy and maintain solutions that are high availability, secure, compliant, resilient, and multi-region capable
  • Automate tasks to drive consistency, reduce complexity, and eliminate/minimize human involvement wherever possible
  • Work as an integral part of development teams that emphasize code quality, - continuous delivery, peer reviews, and strong engineering practices
  • Respond to production service escalations. Lead incident and root-cause analysis with an emphasis on service improvement
  • Introduce enhancements to improve performance, file management, and observability
  • Integrate into the builds unit, functional and performance testing.
Experience you'll bring
  • Experience working as a DevOps engineer in an engineering team that builds cloud-native platforms
  • Software Development Engineer experience
  • Cloud experience in AWS with emphasis on Security, VPC networking, and creating HA architectures and autoscaling
  • Hands-on experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, Elasticsearch)
  • Experience setting up a complete DevOps environment and CI/CD platform from scratch leading to canary releases, A/B testing, and blue/green deployments
  • Experience with monitoring in the cloud to have continuous scrutiny over platform/application performance, billing, security, and anomaly detection
  • Have a deep understanding of DevOps principles and the desire to influence the company toward a DevOps culture.
  • ADO experience would be a big plus
  • Experience with the yaml language and building Java projects using Maven and Tomcat and Angular projects using npm would be a good background.
  • Experience with AWS, Docker, GitHub, security scanning tools like Veracode and Mend, etc.
