Data Engineering Team Lead

We're the Data Platform team. We are the core data infrastructure and workflow group at the company, working with cutting-edge cloud data technologies. We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to play a critical role in the development of WEX's enterprise data & analytics capabilities. You will be part of an organization focusing on the development and delivery of data solutions and capabilities for WEX's data platform. The successful candidate is motivated by thinking big data, technically proficient, and enjoys working in a fast paced environment.

• Have experience writing modern data pipelines deployed in the cloud.
• Have worked on agile teams to deliver software iteratively.

• Have experience in combined tech leadership and people management.
• Have previously led and/or managed a team of 5 or more engineers.
• Are a mentor to individual contributors of different seniority levels and expertise.
• Are willing to jump into the code to understand, contribute and/or troubleshoot technical issues.
• Possess a clear and engaging communication style with a track record of building positive relationships across a broad diverse organization.
• Have the ability to encourage and foster a culture of visibility and transparency across teams.

• A BS in an engineering field OR can make us feel intensely confident that you don't need one.
• Solid experience working with data as a software developer or data practitioner.
• Experience building and maintaining modern data pipelines in the cloud at an Enterprise scale, ideally using Snowflake and dbt.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
