Job Type: Permanent Full Time

Salary: $160,000 - $170,000 CAD

Location: Remote with up to 20% travel (Candidates based in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Nova Scotia or willing to relocate)

Description:

WES is looking for a well experienced Director, Business Development and Client Success, a pivotal leadership role within our organization. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Sales, Marketing, and Customer Solutions, this position holds the responsibility for driving revenue growth, ensuring client satisfaction, and strengthening client relationships. The Director, Business Development and Client Success is not just a guardian of the bottom line but also an ambassador of WES's mission to facilitate global access to education. We are looking for an exceptional leader who can blend strategic thinking, strong leadership, and a deep commitment to a client-centric approach.

Duties included but not limited to:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development / sales & client engagement strategy aligned with the organization's overall business objectives to enhance client satisfaction, retention, and revenue growth.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Business Development / Sales and Client Success teams to achieve their sales targets, client satisfaction goals, and overall performance objectives.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies and tactics to drive revenue growth, aligning with WES's strategic objectives.
  • Identify emerging business opportunities, markets, and industry trends, leveraging this knowledge to expand our client base.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze sales performance, making data-driven decisions to optimize outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients, becoming a trusted advisor to address their needs and ensure their satisfaction.
  • Cultivate an in-depth understanding of client needs, market dynamics, and competitive forces.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver tailored solutions and services that drive sales and client success.
  • Oversee client success initiatives, ensuring that our clients receive the maximum value from WES services.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance client retention rates, striving to turn clients into long-term partners.
  • Promptly address client concerns and issues, developing strategies that ensure ongoing client satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Provide regular and insightful reports on sales and client success performance to the Senior Director of Sales, Marketing, and Customer Solutions.
  • Employ data analytics to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for growth.
  • Utilize findings to make data-driven recommendations for enhancing client engagement and sales processes.
  • Establish clear expectations, performance standards, and KPIs for team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work culture.
  • Advise on new technologies, tools, and systems to optimize team performance.
  • Develop training and professional development plans to upskill teams and stay on top of innovations in the sales / client success space.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
  • Skilled in formulating and executing comprehensive sales and client engagement strategies that are in alignment with the WES' overarching objectives.
  • Proficient in the supervision of client success initiatives, ensuring that clients derive the maximum value from WES' services.
  • Experienced in crafting strategies aimed at enhancing client retention.
  • Process-oriented with the ability to implement new team operating models, standardized practices, automations, and workflows.
  • Adept at utilizing data analytics to identify trends, areas requiring improvement, and growth opportunities.
  • Capable of making data-informed recommendations to enhance sales and client engagement processes.
  • Exhibits exceptional oral and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas, strategies, and establish relationships with both clients and team members.
  • Demonstrates the ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver customized solutions and services that promote client success.
  • Proficient in building and maintaining enduring, robust relationships with clients, functioning as a trusted advisor equipped to address their needs and concerns.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
  • 7-10+ years’ experience in a senior leadership role in sales, client engagement, customer success, or account management.
  • Proven experience in driving revenue growth and achieving or exceeding sales targets. Strong sales skills and a strategic approach to sales initiatives are essential.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within sales and client success, preferably in the education or service industry.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce systems and other relevant technologies.
  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to develop and execute effective client engagement strategies.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Analytical mindset and proficiency in data analysis, metrics tracking, and client engagement measurement tools.
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams and collaborating to achieve common goals.
  • Ability to navigate and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving client satisfaction, retention, and revenue growth.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering exceptional client experiences.
