About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a skilled Senior Systems Operations Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and management of Group Policy Objects (GPOs) within a large-scale Microsoft Active Directory environment. This role is critical to maintaining secure, compliant, and consistent configurations across our enterprise infrastructure

In this role, you will:

  • GPO Lifecycle Management: Create, update, and retire GPOs to support evolving business and technical needs.
  • OS Baseline Management: Lead annual reviews and deployment of updated baseline configurations.
  • Security Remediation: Implement Qualys IDs (QIDs) to address vulnerabilities and ensure compliance.
  • OU Governance: Monitor and correct misconfigurations in Windows Server Organizational Units.
  • Audit & Compliance: Remediate audit findings related to OS and GPO configurations.
  • Incident Response: Provide On-Call support for GPO-related issues and troubleshooting.
  • Strategic Execution: Deliver on GPO initiatives aligned with the engineering roadmap.
  • Business Consultation: Advise internal teams on GPO solutions for applications such as IIS, SQL NDM, AutoSys, and proxy configurations.
  • Infrastructure Expansion: Support implementation of new domain controllers, OUs, and operating systems.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Participate in the GPO Governing Board to align policies across departments.
  • Architecture & Design: Develop GPO structures that reflect organizational hierarchy and inheritance models.
  • Testing & Validation: Use lab environments and tools (Quest GPOAdmin, RSoP, gpresult) to simulate and verify policy changes.
  • Impact Analysis: Conduct proactive analysis to prevent policy conflicts and minimize disruptions.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • 4+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, GPO Administration or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Proven experience managing GPOs in a large-scale Active Directory environment.
  • Strong understanding of Windows Server architecture and OU design.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and vulnerability remediation practices.
  • Experience with tools such as Quest GPOAdmin, RSoP, and gpresult.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
  • Advanced Windows Active Directory experience.
  • Advanced Windows Operating System experience with 2016, 2019 and 2022.
  • Familiar with infrastructure automation (PowerShell)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with enterprise-level audit and compliance processes
  • Advanced scripting ability with infrastructure automation (PowerShell)
  • Experience with highly regulated Financial Technology environments
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Collaboration with cross-function teams (network, storage, app teams)
  • Superior customer service skills

    Pay Range

    Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
    $41.83 - $80.77
