Senior Software Engineer

About this role:
We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) group. EFT supports a wide range of business areas-including Risk, Audit, Finance, and HR-by delivering secure, scalable, and high-performing technology solutions.

This position is part of our Finance Technology team, which partners closely with the Finance Controllers organization to support regulatory reporting. You'll contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of our vendor platform, Axiom ControllerView, along with its integrated in-house components.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments
  • Contribute to large-scale planning of strategies
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
  • Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures
  • Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new client needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals
  • Lead projects and act as an escalation point, providing guidance and direction to less experienced staff
Required Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 2+ years of professional experience in either Axiom ControllerView or a combination of Python and Oracle SQL
Desired Qualifications:
  • Solid understanding of core programming concepts (data structures, algorithms, OOP), preferably in Python
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, version control (Git), automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience working in Agile environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Methodical approach to writing and testing clean, maintainable code
  • Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL optimization
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency with Linux/Unix systems and scripting
Job Expectations:
  • This role will be based out of our Charlotte offices with a minimum expectation of 3 days in the office per week
  • Sponsorship is not available for this position
