Senior Platform Reliability Engineer
About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Platform Reliability Engineer to support critical applications within the Wealth and Investment Management Technology organization. This role plays a key part in ensuring the stability, recoverability, and performance of high-volume, high-priority trading platforms. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, thrive in high-pressure environments, and collaborate closely with development teams and business stakeholders to maintain seamless application operations.
In this role, you will:
- Serve as the first line of triage for application issues, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal downtime
- Partner with development teams to support deployments and internalize vendor applications
- Monitor and maintain the health of trading platforms, ensuring real-time recoverability
- Collaborate with business and technology teams to understand application impact and prioritize response
- Contribute to platform improvements by identifying recurring issues and driving process enhancements
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response for critical systems
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members as needed
- Lead or participate in high level technical concepts spanning technology and business
- Develop specifications for complex infrastructure systems, design and test solutions
- Contribute to the testing of business, application and technical infrastructure requirements
- Drive solutions to reduce recovery
- Review and analyze solutions for cloud security, secrets management and key rotations
- Design, code, test, debug and document programs using Agile development practices
- Design complex system upgrades
- Resolve troublesome trends as they develop
- Develop a long range plan designed to resolve problems and prevent them from recurring
- Direct the daily risk and control flow of operations, focusing on policies, procedures and work standards to ensure success
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

- 4+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of experience with Splunk or other logging/monitoring tools
- 4+ years of experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
- 4+ years of experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
- 4+ years of experience with databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or MongoDB
- Experience with .NET applications
- Background in financial services or trading environments
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work effectively under pressure
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Familiarity with platform engineering concepts and operational best practices
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
- Direct the daily risk and control flow of operations, focusing on policies, procedures and work standards to ensure success
- Flexibility to frequently be on call beyond normal working hours
