Senior Lead Systems Operations Engineer

Chandler, AZ

Wells Fargo is seeking a Technology Major Incident Lead.

  • Act as an advisor to senior leadership to develop or influence platform support solutions for highly complex business and technical needs or technology initiatives.
  • Lead highly complex, broad impact initiatives including provision of high-level systems consultation for the technology teams related to large scale planning of computer systems and network infrastructure for Systems Operations functional areas.
  • Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking.
  • Assist in supervising a Systems Operations team of analysts in Major Incident Management, or other technical products and services, and related processes to ensure timely completion, quality, and compliance in Systems Operations functional area.
  • Collaborate and consult with technical peers, colleagues, and mid to more experienced level managers to resolve systems support issues and achieve goals.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities within Systems Operations to increase system efficiency and lower human intervention time on technical tasks.
  • Translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions.
  • Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization.
  • Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership.
  • Manage the end-to-end system availability for complex or severe incidents to enable and focus support teams into quicker mitigation of user/customer impact, as well as communicate incident details and recovery plans to all levels of management.
  • Manage problem trends for supported business/technology area to assist in maintaining high availability for its various applications/platforms.
  • Provide training and mentoring to less experienced team members on guidebook changes and lead team to meet technical deliverables, while leveraging solid understanding of technical process controls or standards
Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
  • Experience 5+ years of application production support, managing command centers or major incident management.
  • Experience 3+ years complex issue resolution experience
  • Experience 2+ years of technology delivery and relationship management experience with small and large business units in a large corporate environment
Desired Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and understanding of Dev OPS, SRE and technical System Development Life Cycle management.
  • Knowledge and understanding of system monitoring and automation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology monitoring: applications to ensure 24x7 uptime.
  • Experience working in an Agile team environment.
  • Experience with one or more Agile tools used for defect tracking, such as ServiceNow, Confluence or Jira
  • Knowledge and understanding of AppDynamics
  • Knowledge and understanding of Splunk
  • Knowledge and understanding of applications technology management role including managing applications development and support for multiple systems and business functions
  • Strong knowledge of ServiceNow Incident, Problem, and CMDB modules
  • Strong understanding in risk management framework, stability, and availability management metrics
  • Experience working with Cloud technologies.
  • Strong knowledge working with Microsoft Teams or equivalent.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Job Expectations:
  • Identify opportunity for process improvements within technical support strategies and plans.
  • Contribute to increasing system efficiencies and lowering the human intervention time on related tasks
  • Exercise some independent judgment to analyze and recommend process improvements while developing understanding of technical process controls or standards.
  • Work as an internal consultant regarding use of tools and processes.
  • Open to work in flexible hours, on call support in a 24x7 command center environment
