About this role:
The Wells Fargo Consumer Lending CAO BSA/AML Strategy and Transformation team is seeking an experienced financial crimes leader to oversee risk coverage across Consumer Lending. This individual will be responsible for identifying, assessing, managing, and mitigating both existing and emerging risk exposures related to Consumer Lending activities and operations.

The role involves providing expert consultation and guidance on the development, implementation, and monitoring of complex, business-specific programs for the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Consumer Lending business lines to design and implement process and operational enhancements that align with strategic goals. Additionally, the position will engage with Financial Crimes Risk Management (FCRM) partners and may interact with Audit, Legal, external agencies, and regulatory bodies regarding management of risk programs tailored to specific business needs. Leadership of projects or initiatives and mentoring responsibilities may be included; however, direct management of team members is not required.
In this role, you will:
- Provide expert guidance in Financial Crimes for Consumer Lending activities, with particular emphasis on Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) programs.
- Apply knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Sanctions regulations to design compliant processes and controls.
- Assess the relevance of policies within assigned business units and evaluating the effectiveness of current procedures.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of the business control framework related to Financial Crimes.
- Consult with business stakeholders on projects to identify and mitigate operational risks across Consumer Lending functions.
- Identify risk exposures associated with emerging trends and changes to business processes.
- Assist in the aggregation and communication of financial crimes risk data for assigned business units.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Financial Crimes partners to identify issues, recommend solutions, and advance strategic objectives. Assisting in the formulation and implementation of corrective actions to address identified risks.
- Oversee resolution of financial crimes issues and monitoring corrective actions to ensure effective remediation of control deficiencies.
- Provide support during regulatory examinations, internal audits, and Independent Risk Management reviews as needed.
- Promote and nurturing a culture focused on talent development to achieve business goals and strategic priorities.
- 7+ years of risk management, business controls, quality assurance, business operations, compliance, or process experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Specific working experience with Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) banking risk programs
- Process improvement and change management experience
- Experience with front-line Consumer Lending business processes and controls, including quality assurance processes, business operations, and compliance measures
- Desire to work within a fast paced- highly regulated enforcement action environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner
- Industry standard Financial Crimes certification

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$159,000.00 - $279,000.00
