• Research moderately complex business, operational, and strategic initiatives that require analytical skills, basic knowledge of organizational strategy and Business Execution, and understanding of international business.

• Work independently to make recommendations for support function by providing support and leadership.

• Assist in the planning and execution of a variety of programs and initiatives that may include risk mitigation, efficiency, and customer experience.

• Collaborate and consult with team leaders in developing project plans, policies and procedures.

• Provide leadership in management of relationships and implementation of programs, services, and initiatives with cross functional business partners.

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

Department Overview

As the company's second line of defense, Corporate Risk - or Independent Risk Management - provides independent oversight of risk-taking activities. Independent Risk Management establishes and maintains Wells Fargo's risk management program and provides oversight, including challenges to and independent assessment of the frontline's execution of its risk management responsibilities. We manage risk according to the Risk Management Framework and ensure all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk. Risk management at Wells Fargo is organized with clearly defined lines of defense to provide effective risk oversight and decision-making across the organization.

The Corporate & Investment Banking Risk (CIB Risk) group independently oversees and challenges all risk management activities within the CIB business. CIB provides corporate and transactional banking, commercial real estate lending and servicing, investment banking, and equity and fixed income solutions to clients across the globe. The CIB Risk group is responsible for enhancing the effectiveness of risk oversight and providing a comprehensive view of risks across the business, while creating streamlined independent risk management interactions with CIB leaders.

The CIB Risk Strategy, Planning & Governance (SP&G) team focuses on execution of core business operations and governance routines in support of effective risk oversight of front-line activities. The team brings industry perspectives and experience that enable consistency in CIB Risk governance and operations in- line with Corporate Risk's vision, goals, and objectives.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Support the execution of CIB Risk governance routines including the Risk Measurement Program (RMP), Enterprise Risk Identification and Assessment (ERIA), Issues Management (IM) and New Business Initiatives (NBI) requirements.
  • Assist in execution of RCSA (Risk & Control Self-Assessment) based controls for CIB Risk SP&G
  • Provide risk management consulting to support SP&G in identifying, assessing, designing, and implementing risk mitigation strategies, processes, and controls.
  • Help strengthening the business control environment through proactive evaluation of controls, identification of issues and by providing consultative guidance.
  • Lead and oversee the design and implementation of processes and routines required to meet ERP deliverables within the defined SLAs.
  • Ensure work products, dashboards, reporting and other artifacts supporting governance are high quality, accurate and meet the standards set in the relevant program.
  • Evaluate, update and improve governance routines as enterprise requirements evolve, and to ensure ongoing effectiveness.
  • Ensure that processes and routines supporting CIB Risk governance requirements are aligned to the risk management framework and applicable policies; requires thorough understanding of the underlying requirements.
  • Monitor and independently assess that all in-scope controls are executed as designed; maintain repository of related artifacts to evidence control execution.
  • Evaluate CIB Risk SP&G controls, and presentation recommendations to reduce risk and improve controls.
  • Develop and maintain metrics, reporting and dashboards to monitor execution and effectiveness of in scope control inventory for SP&G owners and leaders.
  • Monitor metrics and associated data to identify and escalate potential issues and providing recommendations for resolution to ensure optimal performance.
  • Present recommendations for resolving more complex situations and exercise independent judgement while developing expertise in the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Prepare high quality presentations and assist in discussions for review with senior CIB Risk stakeholders.
  • Assist in business management and operations activities to support enterprise requirements for CIB Risk leaders including financial management, strategic planning, and leader services.
  • Set risk management guidelines and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication skills and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to synthesize data from a variety of sources and deliver results quickly.
  • Ability to credibly challenge, conduct tough conversations and effectively communicate with various levels of management.
  • General knowledge of industry standards and best practices around control evaluations / testing, internal audit and risk management processes.
  • Planning (finance, resource, strategy, business), decision making and prioritization skills.
  • Experience creating, executing, and documenting compliance, control, and business process testing
  • Experience monitoring, reviewing and evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, initiatives, products and internal controls; and identifying issues
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial services industry, including risk management, issue management, compliance, risk governance, and/or audit operations.
Job Expectations:
  • Industry certifications from ISACA or IIA.org preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of continuous monitoring tools/detection tools/controls/processes, and ability to identify emerging risks and offer mitigations recommendations.
