Risk Analytics Consultant - Wealth and Investment Management - Corporate Risk
About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an Analytics Consultant on the Wealth & Investment Management Credit Risk Loss Forecasting Team. This role will be responsible for the production and analysis of stress test (CCAR and other ad-hoc exercises), Business Loss Forecast ("BLF") and CECL results, as well as data analysis, data aggregation, analysis and interpretation and model validation in support of the monitoring, governance and oversight of the credit portfolio, market risk or capital.
This role will mainly deliver loss forecast and risk attribution analysis to senior risk stakeholders and business leaders within Wealth & Investment Management. This role will also deliver insights and decision strategies to maximize profits and/or asset growth, mitigate credit risk, manage operating losses and other risk exposures.
In this role, you will:
- Lead or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliver insights and decision strategies within analytics and reporting and contribute to large-scale planning related to Risk Analytics. Initiatives include quarterly Business Loss Forecast ("BLF"), CCAR, CECL and other ad-hoc risk analyses.
- Review and analyze moderately complex data aggregation, forecasting, reporting, and quantitative models related to the WIM Credit portfolio.
- Be responsible for process production, data reconciliation, and model documentation in alignment with policy governance.
- Resolve data, production, business modeling, and lead team to meet Risk Analytics deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of risk reporting policies, modeling strategies, procedures, regulatory requests, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate and consult with peers, experienced managers, compliance, and technology to resolve modeling, forecasting, and production issues, and achieve analytic and reporting goals.
- Partner with cross-enterprise risk analysts in development of common modeling strategies
- Participate in the enhancement and refinement of loss forecasting methodologies.
- 2+ years of Risk Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Prior experience in Credit Risk models and associated governance (performance monitoring, validation, etc.)
- Knowledge of stress-testing processes such as CCAR, Business Loss Forecast ("BLF"), CECL and other ad-hoc exercises
- Proficiency in statistical packages such as Python, R and/or SAS
- Proficiency in SQL and Excel VBA
- Experience with main AI tools
- Knowledge of credit risk concepts
- Understanding of other risk stripes (market, counterparty, liquidity) preferred
- Knowledge of statistics and quantitative finance concepts
- Ability to effectively handle governance-related tasks and liaise with 3rd line functions such as Internal Audit
- Ability to effectively interface with oversight groups such as Model Risk Management
- Strong presentation and verbal communication skills
- Good writing and document-drafting skills
- Ability to work across teams and partner with external groups
