Principal Engineer - Workplace Technology Productivity Suite

The Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) group delivers innovative and resilient technology solutions across key business lines including Risk, Audit, Finance, and Human Resources, while also supporting Enterprise Shared Services and Data Management. Within this dynamic environment, the Workplace Technology team plays a pivotal role in enabling secure, scalable, and user-centric digital experiences that drive productivity and collaboration across the enterprise.

We are seeking a Principal Engineer to lead the engineering strategy and execution for our Workplace Technology Productivity Suite, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft 365, cloud-native platforms, and intelligent collaboration tools. This role will shape the future of enterprise productivity by architecting seamless, compliant, and high-performing solutions that empower users and elevate the digital workplace experience.

In this role, you will:

  • Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups
  • Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking
  • Translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions
  • Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions
  • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization
  • Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership
  • Drive the implementation of new features such as compliant mobile texting and global text capture, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with vendors, executives, and cross-functional teams to deliver best-in-class user experiences and continuous service improvement
Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 7+ years of hands-on engineering experience, with a proven track record of leading enterprise-scale initiatives in cloud-first environments
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft technologies, Office 365, Windows 10/11/server, Microsoft Office, Browser technologies and their associated management technologies such as SCCM/Intune policies, GPOs, Conditional Access
  • 5+ years of experience translating complex business objectives into actionable engineering roadmaps, while maintaining a forward-looking view on emerging technologies and industry best practices
  • 3+ years of experience with mobile technologies such as mobile application configuration, application protection, containerization plus text message capture and DLP controls.
  • 3+ years of technical experience working with supporting network technologies that align with applications for firewalls, load balancers and proxy technologies
  • 3+ years of experience creating and delivering scripted solutions to endpoint environments (Python, PowerShell).
  • 3+ years of experience architecting resilient, scalable, and compliant solutions within highly regulated industries including with risk and control frameworks
Desired Qualifications:
  • Exceptional leadership presence and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior executives, guide cross-functional teams, and serve as a trusted advisor on strategic technology decisions
  • Background in workplace technology and/or end-user computing environments
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with executives, vendors, and cross-functional teams
  • Experience designing and implementing resilient, scalable, and compliant technology solutions
  • Experience engaging with senior executives and external vendors to drive strategic outcomes
  • Experience with Copilot
  • Hands-on experience Windows (10/11/Server), Microsoft Office, Browser Technologies, Intune
  • Experience working with business teams to gather business requirements to create solutions
  • Experience in Agile, Scrum and Jira
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
  • Ability to determine the most efficient and effective solution to address the problem at hand and use of a wide variety of business tools to meet user needs
  • Problem-solving, recommendation formulation, execution orientation, strong analytics capabilities, continuous improvement and risk management skills
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently with strong planning, prioritization, and follow-up skills in a structured environment with minimal supervision

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$159,000.00 - $305,000.00
