Banking, Lending, & Trust (BL&T) is a center of excellence that unlocks access to Wealth & Investment Management (WIM) products and services based on client needs. These products and services include Deposits & Consumer Lending, Banking and Credit Solutions, Private Wealth Portfolio Management, and Trust Services.
About this role:
Wells Fargo Banking and Credit Solutions group within BL&T is seeking a Principal Custom Credit Banker. As a Principal Custom Credit Banker, you will be responsible for the origination and execution of the entire custom loan product suite, which may include key focus areas in specialized products and client solutions. Plans strategy and drives execution to deliver high-quality, and most complex, custom credit solutions to existing and new clients across the high net worth and ultra-high net worth segments. Develops presentations for prospective clients and in partnership with the Customer Relationship Group (CRG) negotiates and closes the sale of custom credit products leveraging excellent sales and relationship management skills, credit skills, and strong knowledge of products and solutions. Accountable for loan growth and profitability. In conjunction with the Customer Relationship Group and senior members of the Custom Credit team, develop and implement strategies, including an active outreach to external prospects and centers of influence as well as key non-wealth partners, for new business development. Provides oversight, coaching and education to teams to ensure delivery of banking solutions meet client needs and credit standards. Provides training and guidance to less experienced bankers. Maintains effective risk management through routine education, sound risk and operational decision making, and adherence to policies/procedures.

In this role, you will:
- Actively market custom lending solutions across the Wells Fargo Platform
- Partner with Financial Advisors to deliver Custom Lending solutions to high net worth clients
- Structure credit opportunities and negotiate deal terms directly with clients
- Present to deals to Independent Risk Management, along with underwriting teams, for final approval
- Assist with recruiting of new Financial Advisors including reviewing credit opportunities within their book of work
- 10+ years of Wealth Custom Lending experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Private Banking, Corporate Banking or Commercial Banking experience
- Custom and Commercial lending experience
- Excellent sales and relationship management skills
- Credit risk experience
- Knowledge of traditional banking products
- FINRA registration including Series 7 and 66 (or FINRA recognized equivalents)
- Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position. FINRA Series 7 and 66 examinations, or equivalent must be completed within either a 90 or 180-day time period following commencement of employment, depending upon the number of license(s) needed if not immediately available to transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted. This will be communicated at time of offer acceptance. Registration for FINRA Series 65 or 66 must be completed prior to conducting Investment Advisory business. Compliance with state law registration and licensing requirements is mandatory. In addition to state registration and licensing requirements, specific product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply. Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards. Wells Fargo will initiate the FINRA licensing review process at the time of offer acceptance. For specific FINRA qualification exams obtained after 9/30/2018, the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam co-requisite is required.

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$250,000.00 - $420,000.00
