About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Payments Engineer join our Global Payments and Liquidity team to be part of the transformation initiative leveraging GenAI to accelerate development and build new capabilities. In this role as an AI engineer, you will develop cutting edge artificial intelligence solutions using large language models, agentic frameworks, and other innovative technologies. The ideal candidate would have knowledge in designing, developing, and deploying applications leveraging LLM models and systems, with a strong focus on Prompt Engineering, Fine Tuning, RAG implementation and Agentic frameworks.

In this role, you will:

  • Design, develop, and deploy AI applications using Enterprise APIs, LLM's, agent frameworks, and other related technologies
  • Collaborate with enterprise teams to integrate LLM models with the existing products and systems
  • Develop and maintain large scale applications using Java, Python, OpenShift containers, and other relevant technologies
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI, LLM second agentic frameworks and apply this knowledge to improve existing systems and develop new ones
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to applications and models
  • Assist other individuals in advanced software development
  • Design, develop and deploy application using Enterprise frameworks.
  • Architect Payment applications to transform Legacy applications.
  • Develop Agentic AI using Enterprise APIs, LLM's to retire Legacy Enrichment Services for increasing Straight Thru Processing.
  • Define Role Based Access controls for Payments Platform
  • Work with Global Teams for Engineering Activities to develop Java based applications.
Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 5+year's experience in software development
  • 5+ year's experience in Python, java, OpenShift containers, and other relevant technologies
  • 3+ years of Architecture Design Patters, including deep learning, natural language processing and Financial Applications
Desired Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Chatbots, Transformer models, SWE-Bench is preferred
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with cross functional teams
  • Experience with the agile development methodologies and version control systems such as GIT
  • Experience of DevOps with CI/CD
  • Certification in AI, machine learning or a related field
  • Experience using Architecture design patterns, ability to use Confluence plugins like draw.io
  • Experience using JIRA and Agile Methodologies
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, or a related field

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$191,000.00 - $305,000.00
