Lead Software Cloud Observability Engineer

About this role:

  • Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Observability Cloud Software Engineer.
In this role, you will:
  • Lead complex initiatives to develop infrastructure to provide solutions for business applications
  • Participate in various projects intended to continually improve or upgrade the infrastructure
  • Evaluate internal and external software solutions which could be leveraged to meet target state architecture goals
  • Review and analyze high impact outages to ensure the proper processes and procedures are in place to avoid problems in the future
  • Design, build, deploy and maintain infrastructure solutions through collaborative efforts with the team and third party vendors
  • Design, code, test, debug and document programs using Agile development practices
  • Make decisions in technical designs, implementation plans and identify project risks and resource requirements
  • Direct the daily risk and control flow of operations, focusing on policies, procedures and work standards to ensure success
  • Recommend courses of action to maintain cost effectiveness and achieve results
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Interact with customer and vendor

  • The Lead Cloud Observability Engineer will design, develop, and implement near real-time data streams, ingesting and enriching business and operational data from various sources across the organization as part of a new enterprise observability platform.
  • Experience with Logging and observability products such as Google Logging, Big Query, Splunk, Cribl, Prometheus, Grafana, and etc.
  • Proven track-record of partnering with internal customers, architects, engineers and other technical partners to gather requirements, understand existing systems and develop value-added products/services.
  • Experience in Automating with Ansible, Python and Teraform.
  • Demonstrated experience with Application Development
  • Setting up Google Logging
  • Installation and configuration of Clusters
  • Indexing Data
  • Queries, Aggregations, Mappings
  • Strong in SQL Development experience
  • Ability to integrate with other operational data platforms and tools including Kafka, Splunk, etc.
Required Qualifications
  • 12+ years of Cloud Observability Stack
  • Experience of working on building Java.NET Web Applications
  • Non Functional Requirement implementation and setup
  • 5+ years of experience in Cloud Native Application
  • 5+ years of experience in CI\CD Toolchain over the Cloud
  • 2+ years Terraform
  • 2+ years of Python Scripting and Programming experience
  • 1+ years of Harness
  • 5+ years of Pl/SQl Development
  • 1+ years Cloud CI/CD experience - prefer Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure
  • Cloud native metrics and logging skills preferred
  • Developing API's with security and non-functional (NFRs) support preferred
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience of Splunk to GCL Migration is an added advantage
  • Full stack or Back-end development experience preferred
  • Experience designing, implementing, deploying and managing large Google logging solutions.
  • 2+ years of experience with scripting (i.e. JavaScript, Groovy, Python, Bash, etc.) and working from the command line in a Linux environment.
  • 2+ years of experience using an automation/orchestration solution such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt, etc.
