About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Network Engineer supporting Vendor & Carrier Strategy to serve as a strategic partner between business units and technology teams, specializing in vendor relationship management and carrier contract negotiation. This role leads and contributes to technology initiatives that address simple to moderately complex business challenges, ensuring solutions are cost-effective, scalable, and aligned with organizational goals. Focus on bridging gap between business needs and technological solutions.
In this role, you will:
- Lead or participate in providing technology initiatives for simple to moderately complex business problems within technology business systems
- Contribute to the development of systems and procedures that are both cost effective and meet the relevant business requirements
- Evaluate moderately complex business, operational, or technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of planning and direction conducted to resolve complex business problems
- Partner with business and technology teams to evaluate moderately complex business problems and lead a team to provide comprehensive technological solutions
- Act as an internal consultant within technology and business groups by using quality tools and process definition or improvement to re-engineer technical processes
- Collaborate and consult with business and technology teams to evaluate and resolve issues to provide technological solutions and manage both project schedules and deliverables
- Coordinate communication and information flow between business and technology teams
- Participate in negotiations and coordinate contracts with carriers and technology vendors to optimize cost, service quality, and compliance.
- Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure alignment with business needs and strategic objectives.
- Lead or support initiatives that solve business problems through technology, focusing on systems that are efficient and cost-effective.
- Evaluate and analyze operational and technical challenges to recommend and implement effective solutions.
- Partner with business and technology teams to assess needs and deliver comprehensive solutions.
- Act as an internal consultant to re-engineer technical processes using quality tools and methodologies.
- Ensure timely resolution of issues and alignment of technology solutions with business goals.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of systems and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to streamline business processes and improve efficiency using technology.
- Use data-driven insights to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies, and managing risks associated with technology solutions.

- 5+ years of Network Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 5+ years of experience in technology business systems analysis or consulting.
- 5 + years proven experience in technology business systems consulting, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
- 5+ years' experience specifically in voice and data network telecommunications
- 5+ years' experience working with vendors/account teams at enterprise telecommunication providers
- Bachelor's degree in business, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's preferred)
- Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive strategic initiatives.
- Proven experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating carrier or technology contracts.
- Strong understanding of business systems, IT infrastructure, and enterprise technology platforms.
- Experience with contract lifecycle management tools and vendor performance metrics.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid).
- Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and vice versa.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex business and technical challenges.
- Experience in process improvement, re-engineering, or quality assurance using tools like Six Sigma, Lean, or similar.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Experience with risk and compliance management.
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)
- ITIL Foundation Certification
- Contract Management Certification (e.g., IACCM/WorldCC)
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$119,000.00 - $224,000.00
