About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Control Management Officer to advance the use of emerging technologies in risk management and control oversight. This role will partner with the Chief Data Office (CDO) and Data Management Risk Office (DMRO) to enhance monitoring capabilities through GenAI and automation, identifying risk aggregation patterns and emerging threats across Risk-Aligned Units (RAUs).

The successful candidate will drive actions on incident, issue, and defect root cause reviews, collaborate with enterprise programs to align on common control initiatives, and develop forward-looking metrics and reports that anticipate regulatory expectations. This role is ideal for a forward-thinking professional who thrives at the intersection of innovation, risk insight, and enterprise collaboration.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex initiatives designed to mitigate current and emerging risks with broad impact
  • Act as key participant in monitoring, evaluating, and measuring the impact of decisions practiced in Control Management functional area
  • Monitor moderately complex business specific programs, and provide risk management consulting to support the business in designing and implementing risk-mitigation strategies
  • Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report on the impact of decisions and controls to the relevant business group or functional area
  • Develop and implement risk monitoring and risk reporting processes and controls
  • Collaborate with relevant business group to identify current and emerging risks associated with business activities and operations, and provide guidance in developing and implementing risk-mitigating strategies
  • Lead Control Management project or virtual teams
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Risk Management or Control Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Advanced knowledge across enterprise data risk management framework, including: risk identification, risk appetite and strategy, risk-related decisions, processes and controls, risk analytics and governance
  • Understanding and execution of best-practice risk management techniques applicable for LOBs like those found in Chief Data Office
  • Advanced knowledge of relevant financial regulations and understanding of how they are implemented, managed, and enforced in LOBs similar to those found in Chief Data Office
  • Deep technical understanding of data management operations, processes, products, and data management risks and where they manifest risk
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and communications skills with an ability to interact effectively with stakeholders and regulators, to include virtual, matrixed leadership experience and the ability to effectively manage and build relationships within the business, data domains and enterprise Risk function
  • Proven leadership and project management skills to drive alignment across stakeholder groups to develop and deliver repeatable end-to-end risk management solutions and controls aligned with business/customer processes
  • Deep understanding of risk framework, corporate/business policies, and programs to translate into plans for the business, function and/or risk type

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$100,000.00 - $179,000.00
