Lead Business Execution Consultant
About this role:
At Wells Fargo, we are looking for talented people who will put our customers at the center of everything we do. We are seeking candidates who embrace diversity, equity and inclusion in a workplace where everyone feels valued and inspired. Help us build a better Wells Fargo. It all begins with outstanding talent. It all begins with you.
The Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) is seeking a Lead Business Execution Consultant. EFT group provides technology solutions and support for Risk, Audit, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Corporate Properties, and Stakeholder Relations business lines. In addition, EFT provides unique technology solutions and innovation for Wells Fargo Technology, Enterprise Shared Services, and Enterprise Data Management. This combined portfolio of applications and tools are continually engineered to meet the challenges of stability, security, scalability, and speed.
This Lead Business Execution Consultant will translate strategy into execution across multiple EFT portfolios. You will lead day-to-day operating routines, mature our execution playbooks, and drive portfolio outcomes-spanning intake, prioritization, delivery, adoption, and stabilization. You'll orchestrate annual planning and in-year replanning cycles, manage cross-functional dependencies, and ensure executive-ready decisioning.
In this role, you will:
- Own support functions and day-to-day operating routines across multiple portfolios, and lead execution of large-scale strategic initiatives; set the cadence, clear blockers, and hold owners to outcomes.
- Drive operating excellence at scale-design and enforce playbooks and standards that increase efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness; run capacity & pipeline planning and re-planning across assigned workstreams.
- Research and assess moderately complex business, operational, and strategic topics; synthesize findings and develop clear, actionable recommendations.
- Exercise independent judgment to make well-reasoned decisions (not just recommendations) for support functions and programs; escalate early with options and impacts.
- Plan and land programs end-to-end (e.g., process simplification, AI adoption, scalability) with benefits realization plans and adoption/stabilization criteria baked into "definition of done."
- Collaborate with Product, CIO groups, Operations, and Finance to co-author project plans, policies, procedures, and playbooks; standardize best practices and ensure consistent governance gates and entry/exit criteria.
- Design and deliver compelling executive materials that enable stakeholder decisions-develop pre-wired narratives, craft visually engaging decision packets, shape SteerCo agendas, and ensure alignment and follow-through on outcomes.
- Maintain a single source of truth for portfolio health (schedule, scope, cost, risk); publish executive-ready dashboards and recommendations that drive timely trade-offs.
- Serve as the primary liaison for risk and control integration across EFT and ensure timely evidence and reporting of compliance.
- Maintain an integrated, cross-portfolio view of milestones and dependencies; proactively surface conflicts, orchestrate resolution paths, and protect critical timelines.
- Coach and upskill a matrixed set of program managers/BAs; raise the bar on planning quality, risk narratives, and structured storytelling; foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
