About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced Head of Structured Products to lead our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in structured products and derivatives, with extensive experience working on a global platform. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and the ability to drive innovation and growth.

The selected candidate will oversee the Structured Products team across a cross-asset platform, including Equities and Fixed Income Sales, with a focus on creating innovative investment solutions for a diverse, global clientele. The role includes oversight of Equities structured derivatives Trading, Sales, Structuring, and Governance. A key expectation is to proactively identify and source new business opportunities while maintaining and expanding relationships with both existing and prospective clients.

The individual is required to demonstrate deep, comprehensive expertise in derivative concepts, especially within Equities and fixed income-to facilitate the development of new products (QIS) and bespoke payouts/solutions that drive the platform's growth. The role will also entail frequent interaction and collaboration with Legal, Risk Management, Quants and other essential support partners, demanding a broad and nuanced understanding of capital markets.

Exceptional communication skills are crucial, as the candidate will regularly interface across Markets, deliver presentations as needed, and conduct interactions with external clients to distill complex derivative concepts into clear, actionable insights. The fast-paced environment calls for meticulous attention to detail, unmatched interpersonal acumen, and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.

This includes but is not limited to hedge funds, insurance cos, money managers, pension plans, endowments, WIM, etc. Candidate must possess a deep understanding of sales and trading of all equity products and respective hedging instruments in both equity and non-equity markets. The candidate must demonstrate a strong understanding of evolving relevant market structures and have the ability to manage through an ever-changing equity trading environment. This person should be experienced in risk management, market making and customer execution as well as generating ideas and interact with customers in our trading business. The candidate must have experience in successfully developing new growth and product opportunities in a highly challenging regulatory environment.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage and develop a team of trading professionals with focus on delivering high quality trading architecture, programs and trading policies for clients, advisors, and compliance
  • Identify opportunities and strategies to develop trading programs and procedures
  • Develop and maintain relationships with securities dealers, Portfolio Managers, and Regulators
  • Ensure the success of Securities Trading positions, risk and profitability, while adhering to regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Lead Wells Fargo Securities team by making strategic decisions to resolve portfolio, client position issues to meet trading and compliance deliverables
  • Interpret and develop trading architecture, trading policies and procedures for managing trades from inception to post trade analysis
  • Collaborate with and influence peers, risk, compliance, portfolio managers
  • Interact directly with brokers, clients, and regulators
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Securities Trading
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
Required Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of Securities Trading experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:
  • Proven track record of driving innovation and growth in the structured products business
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Series 7, 57, 63, 24 and 4
  • Candidates must be an energetic self-starter who is detail oriented while possessing excellent communication and management skills
  • Candidate will be required to have a team-oriented mindset and work in close partnership with the various sales and trading teams and relevant support partners
  • Industry experience in a similar role within derivatives and/or structured products in a reputable global markets platform.
  • Excellent quantitative, analytical, written and oral communication and client presentation skills are mandatory.
  • Ability to work as part of a highly dynamic and interdependent team.
Job Expectations:
  • This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check. Internal transfers are subject to compliance with 17 CFR 240.17f-2 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and FINRA Bylaws, Article III, Section 3, which states that Associated Persons should not be subject to statutory disqualification Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.
Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$290,000.00 - $500,000.00
