Head of Short-End Rates Cash Trading (Managing Director)
About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Head of Short-End Rates Cash Trading to join our team at the managing director level. This position would involve managing a team of traders across US and other regions. The main focus would be to be the lead trader in the Short-End Rates Cash team with a responsibility of growing the business meaningfully in the next few years. We are looking to become a market leading business across the globe to all of our Corporate and Institutional clients. This role would involve a client strategy, a trading strategy, quant modeling guidance, technology guidance, and personnel strategy.
In this role, you will:
- Manage and develop a team of trading professionals to manage positions, risk, and profitability of the securities trading business
- Engage clients, compliance, portfolio managers, and industry leaders
- Identify and recommend opportunities to develop trading programs and procedures
- Develop and maintain relationships with securities dealers and Portfolio Managers
- Act as an organizational liaison with industry and regulatory organizations related to trading issues
- Determine appropriate strategy and actions of Wells Fargo Securities team to meet risk, compliance, and portfolio deliverables
- Interpret and develop trading architecture, trading policies and procedures for managing trades from inception to post trade analysis
- Collaborate and influence peers and risk compliance portfolio managers
- Interact directly with brokers, clients, and regulators
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Securities Trading
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
- 8+ years of Securities Trading experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of management or leadership experience
- 12+ years of experience trading at a bulge bracket bank
- Consistent track record of strong PnL
- Experience running a global team and responsible for a global PnL
- Have run and been successful on numerous infrastructure projects within Rates trading space
- Management experience for 5+ years
- Strong sense of urgency and commitment as well as a strong business sense with a strategic and tactical orientation.
- Highest level of integrity and good judgement and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong stakeholder skills and ability to work and lead across functions.
- Strong commercial judgement, excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Comfortable working in a matrix organizational environment and partnership skills.
- A BS/BA degree or higher in business administration, economics, finance, or related field
- Up to 10% travel
- May be considered for a discretionary bonus, Restricted Share Rights or other long-term incentive awards
- This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check. Internal transfers are subject to compliance with 17 CFR 240.17f-2 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and FINRA Bylaws, Article III, Section 3, which states that Associated Persons should not be subject to statutory disqualification Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$290,000.00 - $500,000.00
