The Chief Operating Office (COO) strengthens Wells Fargo's risk and control infrastructure, delivers a more consistent approach to line of business operations, and provides effective and efficient enterprise services to our employees and customers. The top priority of the COO is to help strengthen the company's risk and control infrastructure.

Global Operations (GO) is responsible for refining processes and redesigning business operations by efficiently utilizing resources to exceed customer requirements and service. Our mission is to integrate, transform, and strengthen the enterprise through automation, risk mitigation, effective controls, and state-of-the-art technological solutions to operate at an optimal level.

GO enables a more consistent, effective, and efficient delivery of products and services to customers across contact centers, payments, and other processes. Working closely with the businesses they support, GO drives efficiency and risk mitigation through process simplification, functional consolidation, automation, and effective controls. The main groups that make up GO are Consumer Lending Operations, Consumer, Small & Business Banking Operations, Wholesale Operations, Shared Services Operations, and Fraud and Claims Management.

Operations' goal is to build a more unified, integrated approach to Wells Fargo's business operations functions focused on enhancing operational excellence, meeting regulatory remediation efforts, and better serving customers.

The Role

The Global Head of Operations Reconciliations - Business Execution Executive - will serve as a senior executive leader within Shared Services Operations responsible for overseeing and transforming reconciliation processes across Global Operations. The Global Head of Operations Reconciliations is a new role that will report into the Head of Shared Services Operations (SSO). The executive will serve as a senior executive leader within Shared Services Operations responsible for overseeing and transforming reconciliation processes across global Operations. This role demands a visionary leader with deep expertise in operational strategy, risk management, and enterprise-wide process optimization. The executive will lead the design and implementation of a target operating model for reconciliations with an initial focus on financial cash and securities recons, ensuring centralized oversight, governance, and alignment with enterprise standards.

This leader will manage and develop multiple business functional areas, focusing on long-term strategies, policies, and process advancements for cross-functional stakeholders and partners. They will make strategic decisions in collaboration with the Global Operations leadership team, prioritize and execute cross-functional initiatives, and deliver scalable, fit-for-purpose solutions. The role requires advanced analytical thinking, creativity, and innovation to drive expense reduction, risk mitigation, and operational excellence.

The leader will define a strategic roadmap that includes centralization of operational teams across Global Operations performing Reconciliations, transforming technology platforms, setting a framework with standards, designing a target operating model, and driving efficiency through automation. The impact of change will stretch across Global Operations and Finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Visionary Leadership: The role demands a visionary leader with deep expertise in operational strategy, risk management, and enterprise-wide process optimization. Provide vision and direction for high-impact initiatives to achieve long-term strategic objectives.
  • Strategic Roadmap: Define a strategic roadmap that includes centralization of operational teams, transforming technology platforms, setting a framework with standards and controls, designing a target operating model, and driving efficiency through automation.
  • Technology Strategy: Influence technology strategy, application rationalization, and automation of manual reconciliations.
  • Centralized Governance: Define and lead centralized governance across the Enterprise to drive accountability of reconciliation breaks and resolution .
  • Collaboration with Finance: Collaborate with Finance to clarify roles and responsibilities for GL and transactional reconciliations.
  • Risk Management: Partner with business heads, regulators, control management, risk, legal, and audit partners to ensure appropriate management of business risk.
  • Executive Communication: Present executive summaries, whitepapers, and recommendations to senior leaders, board members, and regulators.
  • Talent Management: Recruit, coach, and develop senior talent to meet business objectives.
Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of management experience
Desired Qualifications
  • Significant experience leading large-scale, global operations teams and direct management experience of large teams across multiple geographies.
  • Experience with global regulatory agencies, internal audit, and meeting regulatory requirements.
  • Strong exam, audit, and testing support experience.
  • Experience developing KRI reporting, analysis, and recommendations for senior leaders.
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise-wide reconciliation frameworks and tooling solutions.
  • Proven success in recruiting, inspiring, and developing diverse teams.
  • Ability to resolve issues, overcome obstacles, and achieve solutions that meet organizational needs.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large, complex, enterprise-level initiatives and working in a matrixed organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive engagement and influence.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other master's degree preferred.

$250,000.00 - $420,000.00
