About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Control Manager Senior Manager to lead critical initiatives within Data Management, ensuring alignment with Chief Data Office (CDO) accountabilities. This role will engage directly and indirectly in regulatory exams and requests, translating complex data management and remediation requirements into actionable execution plans.
The ideal candidate will consult on remediation strategies for emerging data issues, bridging gaps between enterprise programs and the Data Management Policy (DMP). As a collaborative leader, this individual will drive cross-control coordination, initiate change, and deliver outcomes that strengthen data governance and regulatory compliance.
In this role, you will:
- Manage and develop a team of managers, experienced officers, and officers in roles with moderate complexity and risk in accomplishing goals and priorities associated with the functional area
- Engage and influence corporate heads, business heads, legal, audit, regulators, and industry partners associated with the function, or who are affected by its outcomes
- Identify and recommend Business Controls opportunities for process improvement and risk control development by managing and directing teams on strategy and execution of activities
- Determine appropriate strategies and actions of Business Controls functional area to meet moderate to high-risk deliverables by ensuring that all business risk issues are proactively identified and addressed appropriately
- Interpret and develop policies and procedures for functions with moderate complexity within defined scope of responsibility
- Collaborate with and influence key stakeholders including managers
- Interact directly with relevant business groups
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and aligned with strategic objectives in Business Controls functional area
- Develop and guide a culture of Business Controls talent development to meet business objectives and strategies

- 6+ years of Risk Management or Business Controls experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 3+ years of management or leadership experience
- 4+ years' experience in data governance, data analytics, analyzing large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and risk factors that may impact the organization
- 3+ years of experience in data domain execution, management, risk/control environment
- 3+ years of experience with AI and/or data analytics capabilities, e.g., SQL, Python, Tableau, and/or Power Business Intelligence (BI)
- 4+ years of experience managing risk-control programs, including issue management, risk and control self-assessments (RCSA), risk measurement programs, and risk appetite frameworks, executing and translating program requirements
- Experience leading a high performing team of professionals, developing employees, providing challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth
- Experience managing the remediation of Data issues and development of data controls, including investigating authoritative sourcing of data, conducting data analysis to support risk assessments, and implementing data control measures
- Proven ability to manage, lead, influence, negotiate and convey complex data risks topics to varied audiences and prepare management level presentations, including senior/executive level leadership
- Ability to drive and lead organizational change, prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
- Experience communicating effectively, in both written and verbal formats, with senior executive-level leaders and various LOB stakeholders
- Ability to work onsite per Wells Fargo's hybrid model in one of the listed locations

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$159,000.00 - $279,000.00
